Merrie Mill Farm and Vineyard

Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard is our favorite winery in the Charlottesville area and the backdrop of our engagement announcement photos! We adore the tasting room's whimsical, eclectic design featuring an array of funky wallpaper, unusual artwork, taxidermy & other oddities. Merrie Mill is a must-see wine tasting destination in Keswick, VA located 26 minutes northeast of downtown Charlottesville.

Located just 7 minutes from our venue, Maybelle's Market is a great spot for grabbing a coffee or casual lunch. Be sure to also check out their variety of local goods including handmade soap, artisan jewelry, and produce from nearby farms!

Tilman's

Tilman's is one of our go-to spots in Charlottesville. The day after he proposed, Alex took off work to spend the entire day together. We snacked on bread & cheese, sipped wine, and kept asking each other back and forth "is this real??" in our newly engaged disbelief. We highly recommend the brie & fig crostini.

Carter Mountain Orchard and Country Store

Located just minutes from downtown Charlottesville, Carter Mountain Orchard is the ideal location to go apple picking in the fall! Pick your own or buy ready-picked apples along with fresh-pressed apple cider and apple cider donuts. Carter Mountain is also home to Bold Rock Cider's tasting room, where you can enjoy crisp hard ciders (crafted with apples from the orchard!) with a stunning view of the Virginia countryside.
