Things you NEED to travel to Ecuador

Passport

Currently, the process to receive your U.S. Passports takes approximately 3 months. You can also expedite the process, which will take 3-6 weeks.

YELLOW FEVER VACCINE

UPDATE: Travelers are NO LONGER REQUIRED to get a Yellow Fever Vaccine before entering Ecuador as of September 8, 2025.

To book a room, send a message to the number provided above in WhatsApp. Don't worry if she does not respond immediately, she will get back to you! You can check the website (in the upper right hand corner there is an option for English translation) for details on all of the rooms (i.e. bed sizes for each room), and we will have the following prices for as long as you plan to stay:- Colonial Simple: $60 per night (2 people, 1 bed)- Colonial Double: $70 per night (2 people 1 or 2 beds)- Superior Simple: $70 per night (2 people, 2 beds)- Superior Double: $80 per night (2 people, 2 beds)- Suite Campestre: $130 per night (2 people, 1 bed)- Casa de Campo: $150 per night (4 people, 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms) Conditions:- Adding an additional guest costs $20 extra per night (most rooms hold up to 4 people)- Superior rooms can include an extra bed upon request for additional guests- Prices do not include Municipal Tax, hotel insurance, and resort fee (approximately $10 extra depending on the length of your stay)- Check in 3pm, check out 1pm (You are free to leave your bags with the lobby before check in and explore the hotel grounds including the restaurant and other facilities) The Rates include:- Buffet Breakfast- Use of Facilities- High-speed Wi-Fi internet access in all areas of the hotel ⁠Shuttle Service- For transfer in, please send the flight details directly so we can attach them to the reservation.- Our shuttle service is provided by executive taxis from the airport, and a person will be waiting in the arrivals area with a sign with your name.- For transfer out, please request the service at the hotel reception, and the service departs every hour to the airport. Rooms with extra bed- Only superior rooms have space for an extra bed.- In the Colonial zone, we have 3 triple rooms available. San Jose de Puembo Hotel y Centro de Convenciones an Ascend Hotel

We are planning three day trips in the days before the wedding and one trip the day after the wedding for those who are interested in traveling around Ecuador! Busing from and to the hotel will be provided for all three trips. Mindo is a beautiful town right in between the highlands and the Amazon Rainforest. In Mindo, there are a variety of activities that you can participate in, including zip lining, rafting, and hikes with waterfalls and swimming. We will also visit the butterfly garden and take a class on how to make chocolate! This day trip will be on January 7th. A guide will be provided.

Mindo

In Quito's downtown Historical center, you will be able to walk around and see the unique architecture including the many grand churches and plazas, and enjoy some of the local cuisine at the many restaurants and cafes! We will also visit the Quito market where you can purchase various clothes, art, jewelry, and other souvenirs! This day trip will take place on January 8th. A guide will be provided.

Quito Historic Center

After exploring downtown Quito, you will have the option to go on an hour long party bus tour of the city! We dance and drink while riding around the city streets. This event will take place on January 8th at the end of the day trip to Quito's Historical center.

Chiva

La Mitad del Mundo, or the Middle of the World, is a museum/tour of the history and ecology of Ecuador. You can stand in both hemispheres at the same time and understand the differences in gravitational pull on the equator. This trip will take place on the morning of January 9th and take approximately 3 hours.

Middle of the World

The Papallacta Hot Springs are perfect for a day of relaxation! There are multiple baths with various temperatures, including cold plunges if you dare! This trip will take place on January 11th in the afternoon. We will spend approximately 2-3 hours here.
