What is the recommended attire for the wedding?

We are asking that our guests wear formal attire for the wedding. This implies jackets/shirts and pants for men and midi to long dresses for women.

What is the weather like in Quito?

Despite Ecuador being located on the Equator, Quito has a mild climate due to its elevation of 9,350ft above sea level. The average daily temperatures in Quito range between 50°F and 70°F, with high variation of sun, clouds, and light rain daily. It would be best compared to springtime in the US.

What should I bring in terms of packing?

Due to the warm days and cool nights, we recommend bringing shorts or light pants with t-shirts for the day and jeans with sweatshirts or medium weight jackets for the night. Bring a bathing suit and clothes for a hike if you plan to join us in Mindo or do any exploring on your own. Sneakers that are comfortable to walk in are recommended if you want to join us on any of our day trips. Most importantly, bring sunscreen if you can!! It is more expensive to buy it in Ecuador since it is mostly imported from the US.

What is the small envelope I was given in my invitation?

In Ecuador, it is not customary to give a gift in a wedding card from the store. In fact, it may be hard to find wedding cards in any stores/pharmacies in Ecuador. Therefore, it is better to buy a card in the US before you come. However, these envelopes are the typical way to give a gift in Ecuador.
