Gary and Evan met in August 2018 at a work event in The Denver Tech Center. It was a mistaken sales happy hour e-vite that resulted in Evan attending and Gary spotting him from afar. Rush hour traffic was dying down and Evan was about to leave when Gary swooped in and insisted that he get another beer. Evan obliged and they both went to the beer line. Moments later, Gary was nowhere to be found. The next day they connected and briefly chatted on LinkedIn before exchanging numbers and going out for dinner the following week. Fast forward to January 2021, they are standing On Top of the World at the STRAT in Las Vegas with glasses of champagne bubbling. Gary took Evan to the edge and with the backdrop of the city lights proposed with a fresh haircut and a tungsten ring.

Our Story

Denver International Airport (DEN) has daily flights to and from all major domestic airports. United, Southwest, and Frontier have hubs in Denver. Because of the distance from the airport into the city, Uber/Lyft can cost anywhere from $40-$85 depending on demand. RTD rail and bus services are available from the airport. Airport car rental facilities are accessible from the terminal via shuttles.

Marriott @ Denver Tech Center is the hotel we will be staying at and most guests will be at. Parking is discounted to $10 per night for self-parking. Just let them know upon check-in that you get a discount for the Anderson-Hill wedding.

Hotel is located near the Hampden and and I-25 exit. Close to groceries, movie theater, and fast food. About 2 miles from the wedding venue.

Travel and Hotels

There are countless things to do in Denver from roaming the 16th Street Mall to checking out one of the many museums in town. Below are a few highlights that you should definitely check out if you have the time! A few of them are right in town, and a few we would recommend renting a car and driving (look into Turo for daily rentals).

Drive up to the city of Estes Park, the gateway to RMNP! If you've never experienced mountains before, this is a great way to see some breathtaking views. RMNP is about 1.5 hours from downtown Denver and about 40 mins from Boulder. Check the website for reservation requirements before planning to go up!

Rocky Mountain National Park

World famous iconic amphitheater and park. Take in the scenery of the amphitheater at any time during the day or take a hike around the park. Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

Recently reopened! Tour ends in the Coors Tasting room where you can sample the freshest Coors beer available! You can book in advance to secure your reservation. $20. Enjoy brunch in beautiful Golden, Colorado before or after your tour! About 30 mins from downtown Denver.

Coors Brewery Tour

Departures from Meow Wolf's Convergence Station are available every day! Book your tickets online as this unique attraction will book up. Meow Wolf can best be described as a fully immersive art experience. Immersive live music venue on site! Located minutes from downtown Denver at the corner of Colfax Avenue and I-25. Friday 5/20 The Bordas Brothers with support from Dugan, and JL. (tickets for this event do not include admission into museum exhibits) Doors at 8:00pm.

Meow Wolf Denver | Convergence Station

Coors Field, located in Lower Downtown Denver. Coors Field

Visit Denver Zoo in the middle of Denver's largest park, City Park. Advanced tickets are required. Book an Up Close Look for a more personal experience with your favorite animals! Check out the website for what experiences are available.

Denver Zoo

In Denver there are almost weekly street festivals and bazaars. This one is nearby downtown on Sloan's Lake. Shop 100s of local vendors, food trucks, and restaurants. Enjoy local performers and art. Reservations are FREE, you can purchase drink tickets and bottomless wristbands in advance or on site. About 10 mins from downtown Denver. Saturday 5/21.

Park Meadows Mall and shopping area is close by the Marriott DTC at I-25 and County Line Road.Cherry Creek Mall and Cherry Creek North shopping district are also nearby.The nearest big box retailers and grocery stores to the Marriott DTC are a couple miles north, along Hampden Ave, and Havana St in Aurora.

Things to Do

Kelsi is quite literally my oldest friend. Our mom's became friends dropping our older siblings off at school and we tagged along for breakfast at The Inn on Coventry just about weekly. Fast forward a decade or so and we are walking across Euclid Ave to BarRoom on a Thursday. A decade later and we are sitting on the beach in Exuma. Talk about longevity!!

Bekah and I met when I first moved to KC in 2010 at Missie B's on St Patrick's Day. We instantly became soul friends. We enjoy watching Adventures in Babysitting and dancing during the opening scene. Bekah has always been a ride or die friend thus her being the Best Woman at my wedding.

Nick has been one of my oldest friends ever since meeting him almost 20 years ago in Springfield MO. He followed me to KC and then to Florida where he built up an amazing life and circle of friends that we loved to visit with whenever we would come down. William has been one of  my closest cousins ever since we were little and drag racing hotwheels cars down the hallway. We grew up seeing each other every year for Thanksgiving and for a stretch, every summer for vacation in the Outer Banks. Today, we share a love of travel and adventure which I wish we both had more time for! William is always there for a ride to/from the airport and I always look forward to catching up when we get to see each other.

Dale and I met also at Wildwater Kingdom where we started as lifeguards. We ran the wave pool together in 2012 and that was one of the best summers I've ever had. We experienced the seasons at Cedar Point, the launch of Pokemon Go, and countless Pizza Hut Big Dinner boxes. Dale has a beautiful family that I don't get to see often enough, but we have remained close no matter what.
