It was December 2018.

We both gave in to our friends, and were convinced to download an app called "Hinge". Each of us had only had it for a few days when we got "Supermatched!".

We introduced ourselves, had some great conversation and initial laughs, and exchanged information (phone numbers and Instagrams lol). Then.....our conversation fizzled out. We both had a lot going on at the time with school, work, and life in general.

Throughout the rest of the winter and Spring 2019, we kept in touch. We occasionally talked through responding to each other's Instagram stories, texting each other to hang out (it never lined up with our schedules), etc..

Then, on June 1st 2019, the stars aligned and Justin's persistence paid off. We BOTH had a free day at the same time!

We planned to go to the zoo, but then the rain ruined our plans. (For our friends in San Diego, the past few months have allowed you to finally get know how that feels!) We actually ended up hanging out with Justin's friends, playing games, and having dinner (shout-out to Bryan's house!), and were so enthralled with each other's kindness and adventurous-ness. We became instantly inseparable.

Second date - we went mountain biking....it was Ev's first time....she hit a tree. But she managed to escape the crash unscathed! Thank goodness too, because big plans were in store.

Those big plans were for our third date. We road-tripped to Chicago! Want to get to know someone really well? Get yourself stuck in a car with them for five hours! The more we learned about each other, the more we were sure we were meant to be together. It felt like we had known each other for years after that, but...2 weeks went by from our initial meeting and we both felt like we had finally found our match! :) The glorious day the St Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup Championship, was the day we decided we had to make it official...and the day Ev became obsessed with hockey lol.
