Hailey met Gabrielle on December 27, 2000—the best Christmas present: a little sister! Hailey has truly been a day-one for Gabrielle. “Hailey and you are so similar, yet so different,” said our high school athletic director—and no statement has ever rung more true. Hailey is my role model, my biggest supporter, and she pushes me every day to be a better person. For a long time, I thought I was living in her shadow, but I’ve come to realize I was quietly thriving behind her, inspired by the way she lives her life. Brenda is my younger sister—who also happens to have the best big brother. We’re often mistaken for twins, but obviously, I got the better looks (haha). Brenda has been my partner in crime since 2002. Even though she’s younger, Brendita has always been a great role model. She’s my first call when I need advice because she always listens with open ears and a kind heart. One of my favorite memories with Brenda is when we found out our mom was pregnant with Jorge—she was very upset that she wasn’t getting a sister, but another brother instead. To this day, I still think she’s a little sour about it... but she’ll always love her hermanos. Te amo mucho, Tomasa. — Jose

Jorge is Jose’s younger brother, and he’s the definition of a comedian. From the moment I met him during the surprise trip to Guatemala in 2021, I knew we were going to be best friends. You can always count on Jorge for a laugh, a hug, a listening ear, and a helping hand in the kitchen. Not to mention—he’s got great dance moves that I’m sure will be on full display at our wedding. My favorite memories with Jorge are always in the kitchen, whether we’re making zucchini bread, pico de gallo, or corn casserole.Te quiero mucho, mi Jorgito. — Gabrielle

Carlos (Nike) is my absolute best friend in the world— a second brother to me. We’ve been inseparable since playing baseball together from a young age in Guatemala. We moved to the United States together to play college baseball at Schoolcraft College—a true duo. Nike was always my catcher, which created a bond like no other. Anytime I spend time with him, I know I’m in for a great time. Gabrielle and Nike argue like siblings, but deep down, they have a soft spot for each other. I will forever cherish our friendship.
