The place where it all began. One snowy night in the beginning of January, Matt and Haley coincidentally ended up at the only bar open in Brighton during a nor’easter. Matt thought he was just going to the bar during a snowstorm to watch basketball with his new roommate- he had no idea that a loud, outspoken New-Englander would interrupt his casual evening and he would never be able to get rid of her.

Throughout the winter Matt and Haley bonded over their love of dive bars, hockey, and great food. Matt showed off his cooking skills and Haley pretended to like whiskey. They went to countless Bruins games, traveled up north for ski weekends and Matt quickly got to know Haley’s family and friends. As the seasons changed, they both realized this was something special and they decided to stay together as Haley moved away to start medical school in Maine.

Just before heading off to school, Matt brought Haley home to Chicago to meet his friends and family.

As the years passed, the couple continued to make their long-distance relationship work. They took every possible opportunity to be together. They travelled as often as they could and shared adventures locally and abroad. Regardless of what city they were in, they always managed to find ways to make their limited time together special.

Four long years later, Haley finally graduated medical school. Matt decided that no matter where she was accepted to residency, he was going to move with her (unless it was New Jersey..). In March of 2021 the two found out that they were headed to Connecticut where they could finally start their life together.

Approximately five seconds later, Haley begged Matt for a puppy and the couple welcomed Otto, the goodest boi, into their lives.

In the hopes of enjoying life to the fullest in the few months between medical school and residency, Matt and Haley visited New Orleans, one of Matt’s favorite cities. While eating at Jacque Imo’s, Matt received the amazing news that he was officially a homeowner! Matt, Haley and Otto moved into their new home in Wethersfield in July.

Just as everyone was getting settled into their new routine- Surprise! Otto finds a new friend in a storm drain and their little family grew by 4 paws as Kit was welcomed home.

One year after living together (and many years after Haley’s friends asked her what was taking so long…) Matt got down on one knee and asked his best friend to become his partner for life. Haley knew he was the one when he gave her a fake ring and said “I don’t trust you not to get drunk and lose this off the side of the boat,” but still told her he loved her anyway.

The couple was lucky enough to be able to move back to Boston as they plan for their wedding. They are living their best life. Continuing to travel, eat great food, spend time with amazing family and friends and dance their asses off at all of your weddings. So they expect the same in return..
