Simply Natural Creamery

1265 Carson Edwards Rd, Ayden, NC 28513, USA
(252) 746-3334

Simply Natural is a local dairy that specializes in homemade ice cream. It is a must visit on any "Welcome to Greenville" tour that Haley gives. When you stop by the dairy, they always have a baby cow out for you to visit, but the real secret is to go on the farm tour. If you go in the early afternoon, you can book your spot on the farm tour for about $2 to learn about how the dairy works and to visit some very special guests.

Southside Farms

320 Harding Ln, Chocowinity, NC 27817, USA
(252) 946-2487

Haley and Jeff both love to go to this U-pick Strawberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, and Flower Farm. Every year, we pick strawberries to make our jam for the year, and this past year we participated in the blueberry and blackberry picking to make some of the best pies ever. Located in Chocowinity, this place has a very local feel. If you stop by, get some of the strawberry ice cream, it's some of the best around.

Riverside Recreation

3450 Blue Heron Dr, Greenville, NC 27834, USA
(252) 215-0878

Kayaking down the Tar River. Haley and Jeff have done this trip multiple times (including for their first anniversary)! There are different trip options, but we typically like to start at Town Commons and finish at Wildwood Park.

ECU North Recreational Complex

3764 US-264, Greenville, NC 27834, USA
(252) 737-4468

When Jeff and Haley first started dating, they went to disc golf every Saturday morning. The facility is well maintained and has a tournament quality disc golf course. A nice place to play a few holes or go for a nice walk.

North Carolina Estuarium

223 E Water St, Washington, NC 27889, USA
(252) 948-0000

The estuarium is nestled in Washington, NC (or as the locals call it "Little Washington"). It is a small aquarium/museum that begins with an interactive sculpture. If you get there on Saturday mornings, you can even go on a boat tour of the local estuary system (call ahead to verify when the boat tour starts). When you finish touring the estuarium, we recommend you walk around downtown Little Washington. It's a quaint riverside town with a variety of restaurants, shops, and breweries.

Kill Devil Hills, NC

Kill Devil Hills, NC

A local beach town about 2 hours from Greenville. If you are looking for a day trip nearby, we recommend dropping by the Nags Head/Kill Devil Hills area. We love fishing and crabbing off of the local bridges early in the morning and always make a stop at Barrier Island Bagels for breakfast. You can walk along the beach or keep fishing later into the day. For lunch, you can go to Jeff's favorite spot (Kill Devil Grill) for softshell crab sandwiches or drop by Haley's favorite, Devil's Frozen Custard and Beach Fries, for a burger and amazing coconut pie milkshake.
