A favorite memory would have to be the time Jeff came to the emergency room with me. I cut my thumb badly and needed to get stitches so Jeff came to the hospital to wait with me. After waiting finally got to see a doctor who gave me two shots to numb my thumb and start stitching. Jeff decided to start picking the doctor’s brain about stitching while this is going on. I learned that day no matter the situation there is always an opportunity to learn even if your friend is in unbearable pain.

Haley and I have had quite a few adventures together since the day she was born- some of the best being sister trips to Houston and Fort Worth Texas. I got to take Haley to her very first rodeo and see bull riding and truly introduce her to Texas. And since adding Jeff - we've gotten to do some wild things like water park adventures and seeing red pandas up close. I can't wait for Jeff to join us on more of our adventures!

I met Jeff while we were in Physics Lab at East Carolina University. Little did I know that Jeff had a passion for Physics and Chemistry and helped me get through that class! One of my favorite memories with Jeff was at one of the many game nights he hosted while a Resident Advisor at East Carolina University. We were minding our own business playing various strategy board games when the campus police showed up…we normally caused a ruckus but this time it was different. They (or we, I can't remember) challenged us to a few rounds of UNO! We took that challenge and soon found out they were UNO sharks. We got absolutely wrecked! We never invited the campus police to game night ever again after that.

Haley and I were freshman year roommates (and senior year roommates too, along with Mandy also in the bridal party)! We both ended up getting the same degree from University of South Carolina (biomedical engineering), and also we luckily both ended up back in NC after graduation. One of my earlier memories with Haley was when she and friends threw me a surprise party freshman year, and she attempted with another friend to make a Coca-Cola shaped birthday cake (which for no professional tools and a shared dorm oven, was comical). More adventures include kayaking in Greenville and glass etching/wood burning in a "crafting" bar in Durham. I do not remember exactly the first time I was introduced to Jeff, but the first time I can recollect where I was able to spend a significant amount of time around him and Haley was on a camping trip on the beach in July 2022. Although we were fighting all of nature's forces on that trip (heat, rain, waterspout, biting flies), I got a good sense that he was a good fit, and we all collectively agreed that we would never go camping on the beach in July ever again. :)

In college Jeff and I and a few other friends were at lunch together. We were all ordering drinks and Jeff had ordered a dunkel beer. The waitress brought out a light beer and Jeff looks at her and says “Dunkel means dark.” For some reason that has always cracked me up. It’s my favorite story to tell of us!

I knew Haley and Jeff were a perfect match when Haley told me they spent an entire weekend testing a BBQ recipe using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) like they do at work. They documented precise measurements, calculated results with significant figures, kept track of different types of variables, and had multiple process charts all for this hunk of meat. Using actual, could-be-submitted-to-an-academic-journal level of science to make tasty food really embodies both Haley and Jeff’s personalities and I immediately knew they were compatible. That was a couple years ago and now we’re here, on their wedding website!
