Things to Do

Check out the local food scene

The Co-op - Go check out either Co-op location! Good for groceries, a coffee, or a quick bite, this Bozeman staple means a lot to both of us. Aside from Hanah essentially growing up with the Co-op, Mitch's first project with Langlas was the Co-op's expansion project.

Restaurants - Blackbird, Feast, Backcountry Burger, Tanglewood, Hooked, Red Tractor Pizza, Plonk (also amazing cocktails), Tanoshii

Low Key Bars - The Molly Brown, The Haufbrau, The Crystal, 317, Hop Lounge, The Eagles

Stroll through a Farmers Market - On Tuesdays 5pm-8pm (Lindley Park, 900 East Main Street) and Saturdays 9am-12pm (Fairgrounds, 901 North Black Avenue)

Go on a brewery tour

Bozeman has 10 breweries with tasting rooms, and an additional 7 within a 45 minutes drive of Bozeman. And if you have to ask, yes, we have been to all of them! Our favorites are:

Outlaw - one of our favorites. Get our staple, the Yuppie Hammer, if you like hazy ipas! Bar games upstairs, outdoor seating, and food trucks in the afternoons.

Map - a beautiful brewery with an amazing view! The Midas Crush Ipa is one of the most popular in town. Good food and atmosphere.

Bunkhouse - one of our most frequented breweries, conveniently located in Four Corners between Mitch's office and our house. Lots of space and a little outdoor seating area.

New Ventures - by far the tiniest brewery in Bozeman with extremely small batch sizes and very interesting, experimental beers! Every brewer has a theme for the names of their beers... try to guess what they are!

Beehive Brewery - If you find yourself in Big Sky, Beehive is a must stop! Frequented by locals and tourists alike, our good friend and groomsman, Andy, is the head brewer here. Mitch's first favorite Montana brewery.

Sawdust and Steel - A relatively new brewery in Three Forks. The head brewer went to high school with Hanah and is a self taught home brewer. This place is a great addition for this small town. Try the brown ale!

Go for a hike

There is plenty of great hiking around Bozeman! Some local, shorter favorites include the M hike, Drinking Horse, and Palisade Falls up near Hyalite Reservoir. A quick google search will you get you to these trailheads. Some other favorites are Storm Castle (5.2 miles), Chestnut Mountain (10 miles), Bear Trap (up to 15 miles but you can turn around whenever), and Hell Roaring Creek (6+ miles, again, turn around wherever). If you make it all the way to Big Sky, Beehive Basin is also incredibly beautiful (6.6 miles roundtrip).

Other Activities

Museum of the Rockies - Boasting one of the largest collections of dinosaur fossils in the United States, this museum has been around since Hanah was young. It includes a living history farm and planetarium.

See a Concert - while nothing has been announced yet for that weekend, we have a great music scene in Bozeman with venues like the Elm and Rialto.

Go for a drive - take a jaunt over to Livingston, walking around their downtown, grabbing lunch, and checking out the breweries. Mitch's must stop every summer is Mark's In & Out! Go south instead and drive up to Big Sky. Check out Beehive Brewery, go for a hike, drive up to the resort, go mountain biking... or keep driving south to Hebgen lake! A beautiful loop if you continue to Ennis and back up to Norris.

Go for a soak - While you can find plenty of rivers and lakes to jump in, if that's a bit chilly for ya check out one of the several hotsprings in our area. The closest (and most crowded and expensive) would be Bozeman Hot Springs in Four Corners (check their hours before you go). Check out Norris for a more rustic experience with good food and drink (they boast the majority of their food is local from less than a 50 mile radius). Chico Hot Springs Resort has been around since the early 1900s, with two pools, a bar, and a nice restaurant. Lastly, Yellowstone Hot Springs, the furthest away from Bozeman (around 1-1:15). There are no real amenities here beyond the hot spring itself, but there are plenty of pools, lots of room, and typically is far less crowded than the other.

Other popular outdoor activities: mountain biking, fly fishing, white water rafting, golfing, horseback riding... we don't do many of these things (at least not often) but we could point you in the right direction if you needed suggestions. Don't forget disc golf! Hit up Kegan to take you.
