Travel

Salida has many great hotels, and many many vacation rentals!

We'll have 2 shuttles for transportation to and from the wedding venue in Howard and downtown Salida. The venue won't have onsite parking so we'll be asking everyone to take advantage of these shuttles.

The 2 pickup locations will be at RiverSide Park and The Hampton Inn on opposite sides of town. Staying anywhere downtown will mean you'll be within a mile of either pickup location, reducing the need to drive.

For those of you who are interested in booking a rental property there are some great options on AirBnb, VRBO, and these local rental sites.

For those of you wanting a hotel, there are a number of hotels along US-50 and throughout town.

Denver International Airport

8500 Peña Boulevard, Denver, CO 80249, USA
(720) 730-4359

Denver airport is about 160 miles from Salida, typically taking 2.5 hours to drive. There are also bus options to and from. Truly a beautiful drive going over Kenosha Pass, known for its fall foliage.

Because this pass is so beautiful, particularly during the fall, traffic can be an issue due to people peeping the leaves. We recommend keeping this in mind when planning travel times.

With that said, an alternative route is available that avoids the pass and goes through Colorado Springs. This route is about 30 miles longer, but avoids Kenosha Pass if there is traffic.

Colorado Springs Airport

7770 Milton E Proby Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80916, USA
(719) 550-1900

Colorado Springs Airport is about 100 miles and 2 hours from Salida and avoids some of the potential weekend traffic.

Aspen/Pitkin County Airport

233 Airport Rd, Aspen, CO 81611, USA
(970) 920-5380

The Aspen Airport is about 80 miles from Salida. This route is only open in the summer and will take you over Independence Pass, one of the most beautiful drives in Colorado. This route is a mountain pass, and as such takes about 2 hours.
