Formal or Cocktail attire, please! For our summer wedding, our ceremony will be held outdoors in a grassy area. We suggest that men wear a suit and women wear a cocktail dress or a nice pantsuit.
Stiletto heels for women are not recommended due to grass ceremony. Ceremony, cocktail hour and reception to be held outside, weather permitting so dress accordingly.
When does the shuttle to the venue leave the hotel?
There are 2 shuttle pickups: The first shuttle will leave the Marriott around 4:10 and stop at the Hyatt around 4:15; second shuttle will leave the Marriott at 4:40 and leave the Hyatt ~4:45
Are kids invited?
We love all of your little ones, but due to venue limitations, only guests listed on the invitation can attend the wedding. If you have any questions, please reach out to Helen or Jon!
Is smoking allowed?
Our venue, the Morton Arboretum, strictly prohibits smoking or vaping anywhere on the premises including outdoors and around the property, therefore we ask that you do not smoke or vape anywhere on The Morton Arboretum grounds or financial implications may apply. Thank you!
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be outdoors overlooking a lake (unless it rains). We recommend dressing for warm, humid Chicago-area summers! The reception will be in an open-air 3-season covered pavilion so depending on weather, we recommend bringing a sweater or jacket for the night-time hours.
What should we do if we have dietary restrictions?
Not a problem at all! When you RSVP - there will be an option to list any dietary restrictions, so that we may accommodate those. In alignment with our values, our wedding will be fully pescatarian offering fish and vegetarian entree options.
Is the after-wedding brunch required?
Of course not! We'd love to say goodbye to those that can make it in a relaxed manner. Dress code is casual. Stop by to say hello and grab some breakfast before heading home.
