Iconic. Tear-inducingly beautiful. UNESCO World Heritage site. The site of Helen’s parents’ engagement ❤️
literally a must-see!
Go walk the Lawn afterward - you will not regret it.
Walk over from the Rotunda to “The Range”, coveted graduate student housing. The most famous resident of this beautiful room (31 West) was Laura Pate Cunningham, Helen’s mom. The second most famous was Woodrow Wilson, the 28th president of the United States (there’s a plaque for him and not her yet - I’ll need to speak to the University about that)
Walk down a bit to #13 and see Edgar Allan Poe’s room, too!
If you’re feeling historical, go visit Thomas Jefferson’s home in the mountains. Enjoy his cool inventions and some incredible views!
Bodo’s is every UVA student’s favorite bagel spot! Students strive to get there right when it opens at least once before they graduate to snag the coveted “#1” ticket!
A Roots bowl is the go-to healthy lunch for a UVA student!! Andy loves the Apollo and Helen loves the Pesto Caesar - but you can’t go wrong.
Delicious sandwiches! Andy’s favorite is the IvP Banh Mi and Helen’s is the KISS Caprese!
Cute little market with food options and beer! Fun place to hang out for the afternoon.
Fun brewery right near the IX Art Park! Grab a beer and check it out! (Get a taco or two at Brazos while you’re there!!)
The pizza here is AMAZING! No reservations, and an intimate atmosphere. If you want to avoid the busy dinner rush, the 2nd street location (near Three Notchd) has takeout for lunchtime!
