What is the wedding day schedule?
Our Catholic Mass ceremony will take place at St. Peter's Church in downtown Memphis from 2-3PM. Please plan to arrive between 1:30 and 1:45 PM. The reception will begin with cocktail hour at 5:00 PM at the University Club of Memphis, followed by dinner and dancing.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
Please join us in formal-cocktail attire. For women, think cocktail dresses or knee-length or midi dresses. For men, a suit or dress slacks, button-up shirt, and blazer with an optional tie will be perfect.
What should I know if I’ve never attended a Catholic wedding?
This is a full religious ceremony, lasting about an hour and including readings, prayers, vows, and Eucharistic Communion.
If you’re not Catholic or not practicing, you’re welcome to remain seated during Communion or come forward with your arms crossed to receive a blessing—whichever feels right to you.
There will be standing, sitting, and kneeling at various points throughout the service. Just follow the lead of those around you—no pressure to get it perfect.
Please dress respectfully, as the ceremony takes place in a sacred space. Semi-formal or cocktail attire is perfect.
Most importantly, you’re warmly invited to simply observe and enjoy the beauty and meaning of the ceremony. We are ecstatic to share our faith with you in this way.
Are kids invited?
It is a resounding "yes!" Christ said: "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14). All littles ones are invited. We will have kid friendly (and adult-friendly) food and activities at the reception. Our "Activities" page includes several ideas for kid-friendly adventures in Memphis.
When should I book my hotel if I am using the reserved block?
If you would like to stay at the Peabody, please book your hotel by October 21 to use our hotel bock rate.
How far is the church from the Peabody?
St. Peter's is about a 5 minute drive or 10 minute walk from the Peabody and neighboring hotels.
Can I park at the church and/or reception?
Yes, there are free parking lots at both with ample space. The church and reception venue are about 15-20 minutes from each other.
