Roughly one hour from Sebber Kloster you'll find Klitmøller aka Cold Hawaii.
Klitmøller is a sleepy, yet electric, surfer town on the west coast of Denmark. It's cluttered with charm, bare feet & rolled down wetsuits, small independent eateries and collections of wooden summerhouses.
Enjoy long walks along the yellow sandy beaches, give a go at SUP, or take your turn at rolling in blue waves, it's a water-lovers heaven (in all weathers!).
Thobias' parents, Agnethe and Peter, have had a summer house in Klitmøller for 25 years. Thobias has coined Klitmøller as his hidden gem, most treasured place... so feel grateful that he let me tell you about it ;)
Isabelle's favourites - watching the sunset from the rolling hills, nothing beats this. Grab a sea food pizza from Geo's, walk to the beach & lap up the energy. Channel your inner me and take your yoga mat to the beach early in the morning, get your sweat on and then freshen off with a swim in the ocean. Just walk, walk with no purpose and listen to the waves.
We hope you will enjoy the total peace and tranquil that is the middle of the Danish countryside in Nordjylland.
Sebber Kloster is set upon a fjord, although it is not accessible directly from Sebber Kloster, a short journey can allow you to take a dip or hire SUP. More details will be available upon arrival.
Sebber Kloster Golf Course is set within a 5 minute walk of Sebber Kloster. There is an option for 9 holes, pay and play. Equipment hire available.
A quick 10 minute drive (or a slightly longer cycle along safe & nature filled cycle paths) will take you into Nibe, the closest village to Sebber Kloster. Here you will find small cafes, a supermarket, pharmisist and a little bit of local charm.
We'd definetly describe Copenhagen as "our" city, obviously because it's only of the best cities on Earth but also because of all the wonderful memories we made together whilst Thobias studied at University of Copenhagen. Seeing as Thobias lived here for roughly 4 years and Isabelle visited around 40 times, we'd love to share some of our favourite things to do with you... hopefully allowing you to experience Copehagen "as a local".
- Rent yourself a bike. This is an absolute must. If you want to feel and experience Copenhagen in all it's charm, be sure to hop on a bike (there are rental shops all over the city).
- Torvhallerne. A truly delightful market set in the bustling Nørreport. Easily accessible by both bike and metro, and filled with the most delicious food stalls, get your hands on freshly baked breads, danish pastries and coffee! Sit and enjoy smørrebrød, or try a healthy and nutritious bowl of grød. Browse through the fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers. Isabelle could spend HOURS here, make sure you have time (and an empty stomach) before visiting.
- Picnic in Kongens Have. Want to blend in with the Danes? Kongens Have on a sunny day is a must. Grab yourself some supermarket "øl" or delicious pastries and a coffee, perch amongst the beautiful gardens & soak in the rays. Danes & Brits are one in the same here... when the sun is out, we're out.
- Nature? Look no further than Bispebjerg Kirkegaard for an expansive graveyard, park set a decent cycle from the city centre, an enjoyable ride through some of Copenhagen's most sought out neighbourhoods.
- A bridge fanatic? Or a cold water swimming enthusiast? Head out to Amager beach to glimpse across the water to Sweden, and take a dip in the ocean. A beautifully curved footpath takes you along the oceanfront.
- Rent a "Go-Boat". Romantic afternoon picnic for 2, or a boozy boat ride for a bigger group... exploring Copenhagen's canals by way of boat is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon.
- Try "Smørrebrød". Again, an absolute must. If you fancy a treat, and you won't regret it, treat yourself to Michelin starred smørrebrød at Aammanns 1921, a vibrant, elegant and creative lunch restaurant set close to "strøget", the main shopping street.
- Reffen. Granted, Copenhagen is expensive (especially for Brits), so if you're looking for a cheaper way to eat delicious food, find your way to Reffen. A collection of outdoor food markets, fire pits, DJ sets and a cosy community.
- Rooftop cocktail? There are plenty of these across Copenhagen, one that we love is Grande Joanne. An expansive wine & cocktail menu, a south European style terrace with all the design, style and class of a Scandinavia.
