Things to Do

Utah is where Jacquelyn grew up, and we are so happy and excited to share this beautiful mountainous place with our friends and family. From near and far, thank you for traveling to celebrate us, we appreciate you!!

The wedding will be held in the afternoon at 5:30 PM on Saturday with a reception following into the evening.

If you have some extra time to explore, here are some curated recommendations.

In Salt Lake City (no car needed):

Utah Natural History Museum: An architectural jewel showcasing exhibits of natural history subjects, with an emphasis on Utah and the Intermountain West. https://nhmu.utah.edu/

Bodega and the Rest: A unique speakeasy in downtown SLC with incredible cocktails and delicious bites.

Red Iguana: Family owned Mexican restaurant with delicious award-winning food and a huge variety of mole sauces. https://www.rediguana.com/

Close-by:

The Cliff Spa at Snowbird: If you have an extra day, this is one of the best places to relax in the world, book a spa treatment and spend the day relaxing by a pool in the mountains. There are also restaurants and summer mountain activities such as zip-lining and a mountain coaster!

Go for a hike in Little or Big Cottonwood Canyon

Enjoy a dinner at Ruth's Diner

If you have more time and want to rent a car and visit the Parks, they are a must see. It can be a little hot during July, but there are options, so ask Jacqui for some tips on visiting during the summer time!

If you are short on time and want a quick little 1 1/2-2 day excursion, this is my favorite:

Drive to Moab in the morning. (3 hour 40 minute drive)

Check into the charming Hoodoo Moab Hotel and change into your hiking gear, take an ice cold shower to keep you cool. Bring a headlamp, water, good hiking shoes, and a small dinner in a pack.

Eat a late lunch at the Moab Food Truck Park across the street.

Head into Arches National Park and see the main sites.

Make your way to Delicate Arch hike trailhead at least an hour and a half before sunset.

Enjoy a dusk hike, about an hour each way, with less heat, less people, and a beautiful sunset when you make it to the arch to enjoy your dinner. The star gazing is incredible and the arch is an absolute wonder.

Carefully night hike back to your car, following the bobbing headlamps of the hikers in front of you, making their way back to the trailhead.

Rest up and drive back to Salt Lake the next morning!
