What to wear to the wedding?

We ask our wedding to be formal attire, with men in dark suits + ties and women in bright colored floor-length dresses/gowns. You can see inspiration here:

For our Welcome Party, we ask for cocktail attire. No denim please.

February 2025 can not come fast enough! We are so thrilled to be planning the wedding of our wildest dreams as well as making it a memorable experience for every one of you, our favorite and most loved people in this world!

A summary of what to expect:

We will be leaving the United States on Thursday, February 13th and arriving in Cape Town on Friday, February 14th. We intend to use the weekend and Monday as our acclimation/recovery days before the festivities begin on Tuesday.

Tuesday is the start of our fun-filled itinerary week. We will be filling Tuesday - Thursday with pre-planned full-day activities that cover everything there is to see and do in Cape Town. Wednesday will be our Winelands day in Franschhoek which we really hope every single person can commit to. Even if you are sober, hate wine, or think you have zero interest in seeing different wineries, we really encourage everyone to join this day as it's a stunning area and it's a great opportunity for both sides of our worlds to get to know each other before the wedding.

Thursday evening, February 20th, is the welcome party - a big pre-party to kick off the big party as a thank you to all of you for traveling so far to celebrate our love. This evening will consist of a proper South African braai (their version of a BBQ) music, performances, and lots of fun! We hope everyone will have arrived by then so they can enjoy this evening with us.

Friday will be everyone's day to themselves. Whether you want to relax on Camp's Bay beach, your accommodation pool, squeeze in another tourist activity like shark cage diving, it's your day to unwind and recharge before our wedding day!

Saturday afternoon will be the wedding, which goes until midnight. Sunday we will be recovering and packing as we take off Monday to head to the safari portion of the trip. Richard and Jamie plan to stay on Safari for 4 days and 3 nights before heading to their honeymoon.

Whether you come a week before or stay a week after there are many other places to go and visit. Whether it's a trip to beautiful Namibia, to Zimbabwe to see Victoria Falls , or go on more safaris in Kenya, or the beaches in Mozambique, Francois and JD with The Travel Cafe can help customize every part of your trip for you. Our travel agency is our trusty sidekick we hope you'll utilize whether you're coming from the States, the UK, or even South Africa, They can help with all of your plans and answer any more questions you have, in-depth. Utilizing them helps keep everything organized and streamlined for us. If people start booking outside of them, it makes pick-ups and drop-off transfers a bit more difficult.
