When do we need to RSVP by?
Please RSVP through the emailed invitation link as soon as possible, so that we can plan accordingly. We also recommend booking accomodation as soon as your travel plans are confirmed, as there is limited availability in Banff during the peak season. The venue is offering rooms at a discounted rate for guests, but availability is not guaranteed. Please see the Travel page for more information.
What is the attire?
Formal if you are comfortable, but semi-formal is also welcome! It is September in Alberta, so while the average temperatures can reach 15 - 19C (59 - 66F) with beautiful sun, it is also not unheard of to have rain, sleet, or snow. We are hoping for an outdoor ceremony, so please wear what is comfortable. Please note, it does get quite cool at night in the mountains, and typical September lows are around 5C (41F).
Will it be outside?
We are hoping to take advantage of the gorgeous mountain location and have an outdoor ceremony, followed by an indoor reception. However, if the weather has its own mind, then we will move the ceremony inside.
How do we get to the venue?
The venue is in Banff, Alberta. For those travelling from out of province or out of country, the closest airport is Calgary International Airport. From there, there are options of buses, shuttles, or car rentals to drive the 1.5 hours to Banff. Please see the travel page of the website for further information.
Is there much travel between the ceremony and reception?
No! The outdoor site of the ceremony borders the reception venue, and is no more than a 2 minute walk. The location also has rooms available so that there is no required travel during your stay, once you arrive in Banff.
Are children welcome?
We would have loved to celebrate with everyone's entire family, however, due to the limited size of the venue we had to unfortunately make the difficult decision to keep the event “adults only”, apart from a select few family members chosen as special guests. We hope this notice is enough time for you to make arrangements to take a night off and celebrate with us.
Can I bring a plus one?
With the limited venue size, we are quite restricted on the number of guests. We would have loved to have been able to invite everyone plus their significant others, but please respect the names on the invitations.
Can we take pictures/videos during the ceremony?
We have been lucky enough to have two incredible professional photographers to capture our special day, and we would greatly appreciate if guests did not have their phones and cameras out during the ceremony.
However, there will be a specific set time allotted for guests to be able to take their own pictures. Please follow the instructions of the officiant during the ceremony, as he will state when it is appropriate to take pictures.
Can we bring pets?
As I’m sure you know, we love our dogs and they will be apart of the ceremony!
However, due to some recent events, our dogs have become quite reactive to other dogs and we would greatly appreciate if you would not bring yours to the ceremony.
That being said, please let us know if you brought your dog, as we would like to say hello! The venue does have a select number of pet friendly rooms available that can be requested at time of booking, with an added pet fee.
Please note, the venue is also located within a national park, and all dogs must be on leash.
Are there other restrictions within the National Park?
We hope that you will be able to see all of the incredible wildlife throughout the town and park! Due to the presence of wildlife, the venue requests that outside food or drink be restricted to your rooms, and not consumed elsewhere, where it could attract animals.
The park also restricts the use of confetti of any kind, including flower petals.
