The funny stuff:
November 18th of 1978 Earth Wind and Fire released a song dedicated to the International Day of Peace and Love. This song was ranked number one on many billboard charts both in the US and internationally. This song simply named September, captivated the hearts of many world wide. The opening line ask the pivotal question that does nothing less than spark joy in the hearts of those listening,
" Do you remember? The 21st night of September?"
September 21st isn't just a convenient day for Jamila and Chris to celebrate their love (it's really just the first available Saturday in 2024 that had a date that Jamila would remember ). Its a world wide movement that this couple wants to forever leave a mark on the hearts of their families and loved ones. Every September 21st from 2024 on all of you should remember the love, the laugher and shenanigan's had at this wedding. Life is too short to not celebrate the beautiful days.
The stuff to make you cry:
This day not only is the joining of a union between Jamila and Chris but it is the merger of 2 family lines to become one.
The Qualls Family has been in the recycling industry for many decades starting with Harlis Qualls at Qualls recycling. Qualls Recycling was later passed to one of Harlis daughters and turned into Coopers Recycling. Pieces of the original Qualls family recycling remains. Some of those pieces are in the form of silver that has been specially foraged to be Jamila's wedding band. Everyday Jamila will walk around with the Qualls family name in her heart, on her hand and on her drivers license.
The wedding band isn't the only special family heirloom that will be seen at this event. In 1976 Robin L Jackson was too stubborn to pay the outlandish cost of $100 for a wedding dress so she made her dress for her nuptials to Larry D. Williams. Many times Robin tried to pass her sewing skills on to Jamila but they never stuck. Instead she passed on her resourcefulness. Although this is Jamila's second marriage it will be her first (and last) wedding. Robin would have loved to attend but wearing her dress is going to be the closest thing we can do to having her present.
Please be aware that if you spill anything on the brides dress you will get to personally meet the late great creator herself.
