ARE CHILDREN INVITED?
Our wedding is going to be an adults-only event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home to celebrate with us!
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE WEEKEND?
Our welcome party will be cocktail attire.
The ceremony and reception will be black tie, but women do not need to wear a floor length gown - a dress hitting your mid calf or ankle is fine. Please no white or silver.
See here for inspiration, but please do not feel the need to buy something from this, this is just a guide if you have extreme anxiety, similar to the bride and groom :-)

IS THERE UBER/RIDESHARE AVAILABLE ON KIAWAH ISLAND?
No, although you may be able to get a rideshare to take you onto Kiawah, there aren't Ubers actively picking up from Kiawah. Refer to the Shuttle Schedule for more details on transportation to the wedding once on the island. We suggest having a rental car or other travel arrangements made in advance. Refer to the Travel tab for additional information.
WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED ON ISLAND FOR THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION?
Yes! We will be offering shuttles from The Sanctuary to the ceremony. If you have booked a villa through our room block, they are located directly next to The Sanctuary and you are able to take the shuttle from the main hotel. If you are staying elsewhere and will need to drive to the island, we will also be providing a shuttle from The Ocean Course to the ceremony location (and back!), as parking will not be available at the Arledge home. Transportation between ceremony and reception will be provided as well. Please be at The Sanctuary main lobby or at The Ocean Course by 4:15pm to be transported to the ceremony.
WHAT RESTAURANTS ARE AVAILABLE ON ISLAND?
In addition to the restaurants at the various resort facilities, there are also several options within Freshfields Village and Bohicket Marina (3 minute drive from Freshfields towards Seabrook): La Tela Pizzeria (Freshfields) Fuji Sushi Bar (Freshfields) King Street Grille (Freshfields) Cantina 76 (Freshfields) 48 Wine Bar & Kitchen (Freshfields) Salty Dog Cafe (Bohicket Marina) Fischer's Sports Pub & Grill (Bohicket Marina)
ARE THERE ALLIGATORS IN KIAWAH?
Yes! You should stay 60 feet away from alligators at all times. Don't feed, harass, or otherwise intrude on them in any way. They are present in almost all of the nearly 150 ponds on the island. It is also against the law to feed or harass them and punishable with fines up to $500 or 30 days in jail.
WHERE CAN I GET GROCERIES OR GO SHOPPING ON KIAWAH?
The Freshfields Village at the entrance to Kiawah is the best place to buy groceries. In addition to a Harris Teeter supermarket, there are sporting goods, wine & spirits, multiple restaurants, and other shopping within Freshfields. We suggest stopping here on your way onto the island to buy anything to have during your stay. There are also a couple smaller convenient stores, and limited shopping more centrally located within Kiawah. Freshfields, however is by far the biggest option with the most selection.
HOW DO I GET AROUND ON KIAWAH ISLAND?
It is strongly recommended to rent a car for pickup at the airport if you are flying in. While we will be providing shuttles the day of the ceremony and reception, you will probably want a car for the other days of your visit.
Be cautious when driving on the island. The speed limit was recently changed and it’s very painfully slow. There are also many deer that inhabit Kiawah so be aware when driving especially at night!
