Carlos and I met the summer of 2018, right after I got back from studying abroad. We were both invited to a river float trip through mutual friends and although this didn't start our relationship, it was the start of our friendship.

Post river trip, I was asked by some of Carlos' friends to join their running group for the remainder of the summer. There were many runs and Ice House beers shared that summer, but it wasn't until the half marathon race in November that things started to really change.

I was in my Senior year at OU, so I came down to Texas for the race weekend. Come race day, I made everyone take a fireball shot (I'm sure no one is surprised lol) before the race and although Carlos might have acted like he hated it, I'd say that's when we really started to hit it off. We went out after the race and shared some cheese fries at Rodeo Goat, and then hit up some bars.

I went back to OU after that weekend, and prior to coming home for Christmas break, Carlos invited me to look at Christmas lights and I knew that something could be there. We then spent the rest of the month going on dates, hanging out non-stop and even celebrating New Year's Eve together! Right before heading back to school to finish senior year, Carlos asked me to be his girlfriend (I wasn't sure if he was going to, so I was surprised but could not be more excited at the same time).

Fast forward 4.5 years later, Carlos planned the most epic and perfect proposal on March 13th. The planner in me wasn't sure he could pull it off...but man did he knock it out of the park. He surprised me with a hot air balloon ride in San Miguel and proposed right before we got on. We spent the next few days celebrating with some of our family and friends.

We've experienced so much together over these few years, from date parties, new jobs (on both ends), countless weddings & trips together, a pandemic, each getting a dog (Memphis & Milo, aka the best boys ever!!) moving into a house together and so much more. We have continued to push each other to grow, accomplish goals and above all else, have FUN every step of the way. We feel so lucky to have found one another and that we have the best support system through our friends & family. We can't wait to celebrate our special love with all of our favorite people...the best is yet to come!
