Things to Do

San Francisco Fleet Week

Our Wedding will also coincide with one of the best weekends in the Bay Area! You can plan to see lots of aircrafts flying throughout the city the entire week. The day of the wedding will have a Blue Angels air show from 12 to 4pm leading up to our ceremony. The location of the wedding venue makes for one of the best locations to watch the show. There is a great bar at Cavallo Point with outdoor seating if you want to relax with a drink prior to the wedding celebrations.

KIRBY COVE CAMPGROUND

For those looking for an easy hike. As part of the Marin Headlands, this is an easy paved walking trail down to the beautiful cove with views of the pacific ocean and golden gate bridge. It is also the place we got engaged! It can be tricky to find as it is not well labeled but does show up on google maps.

Tennessee Valley Trailhead

Easy to Moderate hike from the south end of Mill Valley. One of our favorite trails in Marin. For those of you staying at the Holiday Inn Mill Valley, walk out your door and follow Tennessee Valley Road straight to the Pacific. A cove at the end makes for a great place to relax. The trail is also accessible for mountain biking.

Steep Ravine Trail, Stinson Beach, CA, United States

Moderate to Difficult Trail as part of Mount Tam. You can park at the Pantoll Campground. This trail is full of stairs, waterfalls, and even a ladder that you climb down. Follow the creek or "crick" for yinz Pittsburghers until you reach the view of Stinson Beach. The trail also connects with the famous Dipsea Trail and can be done as a loop or down and back.

Dipsea Trail, Mill Valley, CA, United States

Moderate to Challenging. The Historic Dipsea trail might be the best in Marin county. The trail starts at Old Mill Park in Mill Valley and ends at Stinson Beach if you plan to do the full segment which would be a full days work. The trail has hundreds of stairs and some narrow pathways. The Dipsea is famous for being the oldest cross country race, established in 1905. The trail will take you through redwoods, open headlands with views of the city and ocean, finishing winding you to the small town of Stinson Beach. Also note, you can link up with portions of the Dipsea from other trails. So explore and let us know how you did!

Muir Woods National Monument

For those who want to see some Redwood trees. Muir Woods certainly is the most well known location and has the largest number of redwoods with close proximity to the city of San Francisco. However, you now do have to make reservations for parking or shuttle transportation as it can be heavily trafficked during high tourism seasons. It is still worth seeing if it is your first time in California. For those wanting a more relaxed enviroment I would recommend going to the Old mill Park in Mill Valley which is near the start of the Dipsea Trail. Also, if you take the drive to Stinson Beach through Mount Tam you will find plenty of redwoods.

Tennessee Valley to Muir Beach Trail

This trail connects two of the best beaches in Marin county. It is a coastal trail, moderate difficulty. There is a nice pathway. Would take approx 4 hours round trip. Also, at Muir beach, the pelican inn is an old English style pub that is a must stop for some pints before hiking back.
