General Recommendations
We understand that many people may plan their trips to different parts of the great city of San Francisco. We don't want to prohibit anyone from creating their own experiences. We would love to assist in planning your trip. We are providing recommended locations for booking only in the Sausalito area which will be close to the venue. We will have rooms blocked for the Holiday Inn Express which is just north of Sausalito. This is a convenient and cost friendly location.
The Bride and Groom will be staying at Casa Madrona Mansion in the center of downtown Sausalito. The Inn Above the Tide is a small Sausalito hotel on the water and directly next to the Ferry. Cavallo point is a beautiful resort with closest proximity to the Presidio Yacht Club wedding venue. Sausalito and the wedding venue are just the first exit across the Golden Gate Bridge so guests are welcome to stay in SF. By car most often it is 30-40 minutes depending on your hotel location. The ferry is also an easy transport option which takes you to downtown Sausalito. We understand everyone has different preferences and needs so we don't want to restrict anyone from booking their favorite hotel, airbnb or vacation rental!
General Transportation Recommendations
San Francisco and Sausalito are very well connected with multiple travel options. We are less than 5 miles total distance from the city crossing the Golden Gate Bridge but time can vary greatly based on traffic. By traditional taxi, uber or lyft it will take approx 30-40 minutes depending on your hotel location if you are planning on staying in SF.
The Ferry is our favorite option and runs from two locations in the city at Fishermans Wharf or The Ferry Building in SF to downtown Sausalito. From Downtown Sausalito , you would need a taxi to the wedding venue at Presidio Yacht club. There are taxis available when you get off the Ferry in between the Bank of America and the famous Sausalito fountain.

Holiday Inn Express Mill Valley San Francisco Area
Hotel sits at the north end of Sausalito, south Mill Valley Tam Junction Area. To the Wedding Venue it is an easy 15 minutes by car. The hotel is directly adjacent to Richardson bay, the Marin Bike path/trails, Tennessee Valley Trailhead, and a Classic Marin restaurant Buckeye's Roadhouse established in 1937. The Muir Woods shuttle is also very close by.

Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa
The Bride and Groom Will be Staying at the Casa Madrona Mansion. Hotel is Downtown Sausalito across from Ferry Building. 10 min by car to Wedding Venue. Hotel also has complimentary transport within Sausalito.
Wedding Day Transportation
Guests will be responsible for transportation to the wedding venue. Please plan on arriving to the event early as there will be traffic due to fleet week festivities. Plan on arriving at 3:30pm. There is an air show along the water front and bars located at the venue. The Travis marina bar upstairs at the venue will be open. There is also outdoor seating and bar at Cavallo point. The wedding ceremony will start at 4:30pm. We will have a shuttle starting at 10:30pm running every hour for guests leaving the event. The shuttle will make two stops only. One stop down town sausaulito near taxi stand and one stop at the Holiday Inn Express.
The Inn Above Tide
Waterfront hotel where rooms sit directly on the bay. Small boutique hotel located in downtown Sausalito and directly next to the Ferry. Hotel is 10 min by car to wedding venue.
Cavallo Point
Cavallo Point is just across the Golden Gate Bridge with closest proximity to the venue, which is within walking distance. Cavallo point is part of Fort Baker historic area with iconic views of the city and bridge and close proximity to the Marin Headlands national recreational area. There is also the Farley Bar and Murray Circle Restaurant within the facility. Guests can get around on the complimentary shuttle, which operates within 8 miles. A ferry terminal shuttle is provided at no charge, and free valet parking is available onsite.
The Gables Inn - Sausalito
Bed & breakfast is within close proximity of Main Street and Ferry. The wedding venue is 10 min by car. Small Inn with limited rooms, historic building originally built in 1869. The first hotel built in Sausalito. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite. Also please note, like many places in SF there is no AC. The climate is typically cool but if this is a necessity for you book elsewhere.
