**Be sure to book accommodations early!

The summer months are very busy in the Waupaca area. It is home to the Chain of Lakes, which is a popular tourist destination. If you are traveling for the wedding, please consider booking accommodations and transportation early.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Comfort Inn for Thursday and Friday evenings. You may also want to consider the Ramada (which is within walking distance, but it's a good walk), or the Econo Lodge just down the road. Stevens Point is about a 20 minute drive away, and has many hotels.

Room blocks are as follows:

Comfort Inn and Suites (attached to wedding reception venue): approximately $145 per night

Ramada Inn: approximately $125 per night

Econo Lodge: approximately $90 per night

**When booking rooms, please state you are attending the Lathrop/Mitchell Wedding. Some of the hotels are already sold out so you will need to book under our room block.

There is a beautiful state park nearby called Hartman Creek State Park. They have a large campground which would be a fun option for those of you who want to make a vacation out of it.

The closest airport to Waupaca is Appleton International Airport (about a 40 minute drive). Other options would be Green Bay and Milwaukee which are both under 2 hours away. Chicago is about a 3.5 hour drive from Waupaca.

July in Wisconsin is hot and humid. The wedding will take place outside so you may want to consider an umbrella in case it rains.

Wisconsinites jokingly claim the state bird of Wisconsin is the mosquito. Be sure to bring bug spray or other solutions for keeping the pesky critters away. Sunscreen is also a must.

There are many places in the area to swim, bike, hike or picnic. If you are staying for more than a day or two, bring some outdoor gear. We hope to plan on doing some boating, golfing and other excursions.
