Jessica and Chris' story began in 2007 at U.S. XC Skiing Junior Nationals in Soldier Hollow, Utah. Though they may not have had eyes on each other at the time, ski racing would be the foundation that would bring them back together almost 10 years later.

Desperate for coaches after starting her own junior ski program in Winter Park, Colorado, Jess sent Chris a Facebook message (yes, a Facebook message) asking Chris if he knew anyone interested in coaching. After realizing they were both in Crested Butte for the weekend, plus a few drinks later at Kochevar's Saloon (iykyk), Chris made the fateful decision to help Jess out for the season.

After spending every weekend coaching and surviving a whole season with kids ages 5-18 years-old, Chris and Jess finally admitted that there was more to their friendship.

And so began their PNW adventure when Jess was accepted into PT school at UW in Seattle. Chris, as supportive as ever, uprooted his life in Colorado to see where this was going...

With the help of their friends, Bri and Adam, Chris pulled a fast one on Jess and went tele skiing down on one knee in the backcountry of Alpental.
