Guests of all ages will need a passport when traveling via air to Canada. If driving across the border, minors under 16 only need their birth certificate if traveling via land.
It can take 10-16 weeks to renew your passport so the sooner, the better!
Here is where you can apply/ renew your passport:
VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Roughly a 2 to 2.5 hour drive up the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway.
SEATTLE-TACOMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
If traffic is great, roughly a 4 hour drive to Whistler. However, you do have to cross the US-Canadian border which can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours. Plan accordingly!
BELLINGHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Roughly a 2.5-3 hour drive to Whistler but also have the variability of the US-Canadian border crossing.
There are shuttles that run from Vancouver <--> Whistler throughout the day. This would be a very easy way to get to Whistler as you really do not need a car once you are there!
Additionally, there is a free shuttle within Whistler to get around: https://www.whistler.ca/services/transportation/getting-to-and-around-whistler/
You are welcome to rent a car if it makes your life easier to get to and from Whistler. However, once in Whistler, you will likely not need it! Most biking, hiking, running, and restaurants will be within walking distance and we will transport you all to the venue for the wedding. There is also a free shuttle within Whistler to get around.
If you choose to get a car, there is free and paid parking in Whistler. Our favorite paid overnight parking garage, if staying in Whistler Village, is at The Convention Center.
