Drew and Joanna met on Bumble during the COVID-19 pandemic in October 2020. Their first date was at a Tex-Mex restaurant called Matt's in Lakewood, where they talked until closing time.

For their second date, they took the plunge with indoor skydiving. That Christmas, Joanna gifted Drew with Balega socks because he was running a marathon, and he surprised her with a pass for real skydiving, anywhere she wanted to go! In January 2021, Drew asked Joanna to be his girlfriend at Le Diplomate in Washington, DC.

Their shared passions have since brought them closer. They love exploring new cuisines, traveling, and staying active together through gym sessions and pickleball. Their mutual respect for each other's families and their constant encouragement to be their best selves are the foundations of their relationship.

In December 2023, during a New Year's trip to Hawaii, Drew proposed to Joanna in front of Rainbow Falls in Hilo on the Big Island. It was a magical moment that marked the beginning of their forever.
