This journey takes you back to the 1600s, through the living history museum of Plimoth Plantation. Interact with the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag, 2 starkly different cultures that came together in 1620, and learn how they were able to live together peacefully.

The staff and exhibits tell the story of 17th century Plymouth Colony and its shared history of the Pilgrims and Wampanoag People. The main exhibits include the 17th-Century English Village, Wampanoag Homesite, artisan Craft Center (Plimoth Bread Co.), Visitor Center, Nye Barn located at Plimoth Plantation and Mayflower II and the Plimoth Grist Mill located on in the waterfront area of downtown Plymouth. The exhibits are enhanced with an exciting menu of special events and public programs.

In the 17th-Century English Village, a re-creation of the Pilgrim's Plymouth Colony, guests come face-to-face with historical role-players portraying residents of Colonial Plymouth. Active participation in the daily activities of the village is encouraged.

The Wampanoag Homesite, located on the banks of the Eel River, is the only living history exhibit where guests see, touch, and experience the history of indigenous people. Meet modern Native people in traditional dress who talk to you about their culture and relationship to the natural world. See their houses and farms, touch artifacts, and smell the aromas as they prepare their food.

Mayflower II is a full-scale reproduction of Mayflower, the 17th century merchant ship that brought the Pilgrims to Plymouth in 1620. Climb aboard and talk with costumed players portraying those who sailed on that historic bvoyage or learn from modern-day guides about the history of Mayflower and Mayflower II.

Plimoth Grist Mill is a working mill and a reconstruction of the original mill built by the Pilgrims that once stood on the same site in 1636. Your visit opens doors to a fascinating look at the significance of mills in the 1600s, the science and technology of grinding corn and the ecology of the brook that has powered the mill through the centuries.
