Please RSVP through this website by February 10th, at the latest!

What should I wear to the Welcome Party?

White party - Dressy Casual! Feel free to wear tan/beige/khaki if you do not have all white. Here is a link to a Pinterest board for inspo: https://pin.it/4VnJGshvz

What should I wear to the Wedding?

Formal Attire! For the boys, your favorite suit will be perfect. Ladies, long dresses in any color/print (except white, ha!).

P.S. The streets of San Miguel are cobble stone, so please wear comfortable shoes!

IS SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE (SMA) SAFE?

San Miguel De Allende is considered one of the safest cities in Mexico. It's been named "Best Small City" in the world for a reason. We've heard some compare San Miguel De Allende to the Santa Barbara of Mexico. It's artsy, wealthy, and upscale. The city also thrives off of tourism, and around 10% of their population are retirees from America and Canada.

Can I Bring My Kids?

While we love your kiddos, we want you all to ourselves. All events will be adult-only. If you would like to bring your kids with you to SMA, our wedding planner works with an amazing babysitting service that will come to your accommodation during the Welcome Party and Wedding. Please let us know ASAP so we can get you the best rates. Additionally, SMA is a great place for a family trip! Bring the grandparents for a family vacay and they can stay with the kiddos during wedding events.

HOW DO I GET AROUND SMA?

We do not recommend renting a car. San Miguel is a relatively small and dense town with narrow, cobblestone streets. The city is extremely walkable, but please pack comfortable shoes! Also, cabs and Ubers are plentiful and inexpensive. Taxis are green and white and cost approximately 60 pesos ($4 USD) during the day. Fares are typically a little bit higher at night. Taxis in San Miguel do not have meters and only accept pesos. Very few drivers have change so be sure to have a stash of small bills with you and remember to tip 10-15% of your fare.

DO I NEED MEXICAN PESOS?

While you might be able to get away with only using USD, we love using pesos for street vendors, taxis, and bargaining while shopping. There are multiple ATM's located around the central plaza or "El Jardin". Almost everywhere else accepts Credit Cards. Lots of places accept USD, too.

Pro Tip: You can order pesos in advance from your bank for the best rate. This typically takes the bank 2-5 business days, so plan in advance.

What Kind of Weather Should I Expect in March?

March is a perfect time to visit San Miguel de Allende- the days are crisp and nights mostly clear and cool. With an average high of 80°F and a low of 50°F, it generally feels mildly cool with a gentle breeze. We recommend an extra layer, just in case!

Can I use my phone in SMA?

Most AT&T, Verizon, & T-Mobile phone plans now have unlimited talk/text/data in Mexico. Please reach out to your provider to confirm or turn the data off on your phone once you arrive to avoid extra charges.

WILL THE Wedding Events BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

All events on Friday and Saturday will be held outdoors.

CAN I BRING A DATE?

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional guests. Due to limited capacity, we can only accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!

SHOULD I DRINK THE WATER?

Avoid tap water unless it has been filtered, chemically disinfected, or boiled. You can check with your hotel or house to ensure that your tap water is filtered. Ice and water served at most restaurants are typically purified, but when it doubt, order bottled water.

DO I NEED TO KNOW SPANISH?

San Miguel De Allende is a tourist friendly place and there is a large population of Expats. Most people speak some English, or there is someone nearby that does.

HOW LONG SHOULD I STAY?

We know that time away from home and work is precious so we recommended making the most of your trip and staying as long as you can! Wedding events will take place Friday and Saturday and we will post updates on the Home page as the details are finalized. If you WFH, almost all hotels/Airbnbs/cafe's have strong WiFi.
