Things to Do

FAMOUS ATTRACTIONS

Tegalalang Rice Terrace: a must-see of Bali's iconic scenery!

Ubud Royal Palace: a UNESCO World Heritage site, once the residence of the royal family of Ubud and now a good place to enjoy some traditional Balinese dance performances

Lempuyang Temple: popular for "the Gates of Heaven" photos - a beautiful Balinese gate framing a giant volcano in the background

Nusa Islands: if you want to avoid the crowds, just a quick boat ride away

UBUD ART

Ubud is the epicenter of Balinese art and culture. For an overview of Balinese art, stroll around Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) and The Neka Art Museum. Don't miss the Ubud Art Market where you can pick up many goods like carvings, sculptures, jewelry, sarongs, paintings, and homewares made by local artists (but bargain!)

BEACHES

Choose your type of beach experience.

Our personal favorites are Canggu and Seminyak as we are not afraid of crowds. :)

Canggu: where you'll find great cafes (BGS, The Avocado Factory, Crate Cafe, Milk & Madu, Blacklist), surfing spots (echo beach, Batu Bolong beach, Berawa beach) and beach clubs (Finns, Atlas)

Seminyak: where you find beach clubs (Potato Head), chic boutiques for shopping, and cafes (Revolver, TEMU, Sisterfields)

Sanur: a more peaceful slice of coast with paved footpath all the way (perfect for jogging or cycling); try local food at Sindhu Night Market

Nusa Dua: a gated resort area on its own private peninsula with silky, white sands and some of Bali's best luxury beach resorts

Uluwatu: breathtaking ocean cliff views and beach clubs

FOOD

From fine dining to street food! Here are some recommendations, but by no means covers everything that's worth trying - let us know your recommendations to add to the growing list!

Canggu: Skool Kitchen (Western open-fire), Maize (Latin), Lacalita (Mexican)

Seminyak: Merah Putih (Indonesian), Sangsaka (Indonesian), Barbacoa (Latin American BBQ), Si Jin (Korean steakhouse), Kilo Bali (Asian fusion), Mamasan (fusion)

EXPERIENCES

In Bali, you will never be short of activities: yoga retreats, silent retreats, detox/meditation retreats, cooking classes, hiking, arts & crafts workshops, surfing lessons, winery tour, spa experiences, coffee tour, rock climbing, diving, snorkeling, rafting - always something to explore! Contact our wedding planner for more recommendations or visit SeekSophie.com for some pointers

NIGHTLIFE

Sip drinks and dance the night away... Bali is known for its exotic nightlife & beach clubs - we are never too old for this!

Canggu: Finns Beach Club, Atlas Beach Club, Café del Mar Beach Club

Seminyak: Potato Head, Mrs Sippy, W Hotel beach club

Uluwatu: Ritual Bali, El Kabron, Savaya Bali
