TRAVEL NOTES!

Electronic Customs Declaration (ECD) Form

Indonesia requires all travelers to complete a Customs Declaration Form upon arrival. To skip paperwork and save time, complete the Electronic Customs Declaration (ECD) online within 72 hours before departure. Access the form here: ecd.beacukai.go.id. One form per family/household is required. Ensure all personal belongings and household items are declared accurately to avoid delays at customs.

Passport Validity

Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your arrival date in Indonesia. Airlines will not permit boarding if this requirement is not met.

Visa Information

To streamline your arrival, we recommend checking your visa eligibility and preparing in advance:

✔ Visa-Free Entry (VEA) – If you are a citizen of Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, or Timor-Leste, you are eligible for a Visa Exemption Arrangement (VEA), allowing a 30-day stay (non-extendable). To use the automated immigration gates, pre-register your passport online before arrival.

✔ Visa on Arrival (VoA) & e-Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) – Most other nationalities can obtain a Visa on Arrival (VoA) in Bali. However, to avoid long queues at immigration, we HIGHLY recommend applying for the e-Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) online before departure.

✔ e-VoA Benefits: 30-day stay (extendable once) & access to autogates for faster entry.

✔ Apply online here ONLY: https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/services

✔ Important: Each traveler must submit an individual e-VoA application.

Currency

Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) can be withdrawn at ATMs using UnionPay, Visa, or Mastercard. Alternatively, you can bring USD, EURO, or other currencies to exchange at local money changers (available at the airport and most hotels). Credit cards are widely accepted, but some small shops and restaurants may only accept cash.

Electrical Outlets

Bali uses the European plug type (two round pins). Please bring a suitable converter if necessary.

SIM Card

You can purchase a SIM card at the Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) for around IDR 350,000 (~USD $20), typically including 25GB of data. This process may take some time, so to save time, consider arranging an internet package in advance from your home country.
