“Once upon a time” there was a girl named Jolene who fell for a guy who just wasn’t right. You already know the ending of that story but one day, she ‘swiped right’ and then really DID meet Mr Right, and along came David. Little did they know their lives would be forever changed for the unbelievable better!
David and I met through a dating app and on January 3rd, 2023 we had our very first date throwing axes. I remember thinking “dang he is tall and whoa handsome”. The entire date was filled with lots of laughs as well as the willingness to be vulnerable with one another, we talked a lot! We enjoyed ourselves that first date so much we lost track of time and before we knew it we were being politely asked to leave for closing time. When we got to the parking lot we were already talking about planning our next date! From there it was so easy, and natural. It may sound cliche’ but our love only grew as we realized we compliment each other so much and we truly do bring out the best in one another.
This last December 23rd, 2023 nearly a year later, David asked me to go for a walk on his property. As we were approaching the spot of our future house, he had a letter already hanging from one of his many favorite trees. After reading the letter, he got down on one knee and… alas, he asked me to marry him! This spot, this tree will forever be magical for us and when you see the venue, you’ll not help but to see how this place compliments his love of his trees and now, his love for me too.
Anyone who knows David, knows that he is a simple guy with a BIG heart. He loves to laugh and he takes care of the people that he loves most. He is very loyal and affectionate. Every now and then you might even find him chasing after possums or raccoons in the corn fields, extracting a mouse from Kitten. I often reflect on where I’ve been and where I am today. I thank God for blessing me with such a special soul because I couldnt imagine my life without David, a feeling neither of us have ever felt before, and the reason we are here planning our forever and making our dreams come true.
We can both agree that we are so excited to start a new chapter with our little fur-family (Max, Wilma, Annie, and Kitten). We look forward to building our future home in the country (with ducks) and expanding our family with little humans in the hopefully, near future too.
David and I also feel very blessed to have such amazing family and friends. We want to thank everyone who has supported us along the way and, thank you for taking a weekend out of your lives to immerse yourselves in our fairy tale wedding. We know we are so very lucky and cannot wait to celebrate with you on November 9th, 2024!
I love you for all that you are,
All that you have been,
And all that you are about to become.
