Forever Grateful ~ Our Wedding Party

Tara Hoppe
Tara Hoppe - Matron Of Honor ~ Sister of the Bride
Tara, you are my younger sister and also my best friend. You are very well rounded and I could use many adjectives to describe you, but three come to mind instantly: intelligent, whity and loyal. Growing up we spent a lot of time together playing at grannies, traveling the world, going to dance classes, and getting into all sorts of mischief. We may be older now and doing different things and directions in life but, our relationship remains strong. Tara, you have always been, and continue to be, someone I look up to. If I need an opinion, you will be honest. Like when you told me my apartment walls need a “refresh”. Or, if I'm having a wardrobe malfunction you’ll be one of the first to let me know. At the end of the day, I always know you have my back, and I have yours. Tara, I am blessed to have you as my sister, my matron of honor and I have a deep and true love for you like only a sister can!
Dan Cotterill
Dan Cotterill - Best Man ~ Twin Brother of the Groom
Dan-In Life, we often come across individuals who leave an everlasting impact on our journey. Among those significant relationships, the bond with my brother Dan stands out prominently. We've been through fights, deployments, Military activities and all the other ups and downs sibling's face. Beyond being a sibling, Dan proved himself to be the epitome of a best friend. We've shared countless moments of laughter, brought comfort during difficult times and engaged in conversations about life, family, politics and everything in between. Dan is always willing to lend a helping hand regardless of the situation. He's been as dependable as anyone I can rely on. The bond we share is unlike any other between friends. His unwavering friendship and assistance should remind me and everyone else the power of sibling connections, even in the most demanding circumstances.
Brittany Neisen
Brittany Neisen - Bridesmaid ~ Cousin of the Bride
Brittany, first I want to thank you for accepting round 2 as a bridesmaid and supporting me on this very special day. Seriously, growing up you were the cutest, quietest little cousin that tagged along. One of my favorite memories with you was when grandma and grandpa took the five of us girl cousins in the motorhome to travel the country (God Bless them!). The rest of us were giving grandma and grandpa hell while you were just going with the flow. What I love most about you is that you haven’t changed and are still very light hearted, genuine, honest, and like to keep it real. I am so glad that we don’t have to see each other all the time, to always know we have a friendship and love each other unconditionally.
Manuel Ortiz “Manny”
Manuel Ortiz “Manny” - Groomsmen ~Childhood Friend of the Groom
Manny- he's been one of my best friends since kindergarten. Fostering a friendship that has withstood the test of time. Throughout the years, Manny's unwavering support and loyalty have been the pillars of our friendship, cementing him as an integral part of my life. What sets Manny apart is his ability to cultivate trust and be an unwavering confidant no matter the circumstances. I can always rely on Manny to lend a listening ear and offer his advice. Manny’s significance in my life reached a peak when he asked me to be his best man during his wedding. It was an honor that spoke volumes about our friendship. Manny trusting me to carry out such a crucial role, reflected the immense bond we share solidifying the depth of our friendship. Manny has the ability to drop everything whenever I stop by unannounced and listens to whatever's on my mind, Whether it's sharing a laugh, discussing my thoughts, or simply enjoying a spontaneous hangout.
Melissa Ashby
Melissa Ashby - Bridesmaid ~ Sister of the Groom
Melissa, I am so thankful that you are not only David’s sister, but you are also have become, my sister. I first met you when David brought me over to celebrate your daughter’s birthday party. You gave me a great big hug and made me feel so welcomed. I have lots but two all time favorite memories with you. The first memory, only knowing you for a very short time, invited me to a Jo De Messina concert and I didn’t know any of the words…but we still had a great time. The second, David and I were planning a date to Ishnala and you decided to crash our date. I really enjoyed trying to get David to eat spinach and artichoke dip. What I love about you is that you are the biggest cheerleader and have been so supportive of mine and David’s relationship. You are 'almost' more excited about this wedding than I am! I am so blessed to have gained you as my sister.
Rex Ross
Rex Ross - Groomsman ~ Childhood Friend of the Groom
Rex-has been one of my closest friends since kindergarten, from riding his mini bike over to playing football together and to working together and traveling the countryside, our bond has only grown stronger over the years. While Rex may come across as tough and rugged, deep down he’s a softy with a heart of gold. Whenever I need his support, he's there for me at a moments notice. Some of his best qualities are his genuine and selfless nature. Despite his tough exterior, he's incredibly kind and compassionate. Rex is an invaluable friend. I am grateful for his unwavering support and cherish the memories we’ve shared together throughout out lifelong friendship.
Vanessa Vandeberg
Vanessa Vandeberg - Bridesmaid ~ Sister of the Groom
Vanessa, God has blessed me with yet another sister. I first met you when I came to your house for Raine’s birthday party. You greeted me with the warmest welcome and as the night went on you made it a point to get to know me more. My favorite, among many, memory of you was when David and I were having Mexican and I look up to see this guy skating back and forth, waving at us in the window. I told David there was some weird guy in the window…of course it was John with you following behind. It seems to me that there is a theme of date crashers in the family. But in all seriousness, I have enjoyed getting to know you more. My favorite thing about you is that you are so genuine and honest. I can not express enough how grateful I am to have gained you as my sister.
Darryl Van Grouw
Darryl Van Grouw - Groomsman ~ Room-mate & Travel Buddy of the Groom
Darryl- one of my best friends whom I met in 2016 has left an everlasting impact on my life. Beyond being just a friend, he has been my confidant, roommate and travel companion. Throughout our journey together, his genuine incurring nature instantly draws anyone in. It didn't take long for us to form an unbreakable bond. His positive attitude and easy-going personality turned being roommates into a shared space of laughter and experiences. Whether it was cooking, binge watching our favorite shows and movies or having heart to heart conversations, his willingness to pick up the phone anytime I call is a testament to the strength of our bond and value he places on our friendship. Darryl Is one of the finest individuals I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. His qualities as a roommate, travel partner, and the constant support are testaments to his kindness, reliability, and unwavering friendship.
Eric Hoppe
Eric Hoppe - Ring Security ~ Brother-in-law of the Bride
Eric, I remember one of the first times I met you was when I drove to Milwaukee to pick you up from college. I "thought" on the ride home we were able to hold a conversation, sort of, and despite the “awkward” first encounter, we became besties going on mini roadtrips, going to your work picnic, helping me clean my house (which I was forever doing), together randomly finding a foam party with Tabby, oh those forced trips to Fleet Farm with Dave, and all the other weird shannignas we could get ourselves into. Over the last 14 years knowing you, give or take a few, one of the best things has been you becoming a permanent part of our family. Eric, you been a huge part of my adult life and I am forever grateful to have you most of all as my brother-in-law. You are a wonderful husband, father, and now you are also on this very special day, part of my "ring security" task force.
Palmer Hoppe “Bearpaw”
Palmer Hoppe “Bearpaw” - Ring Security ~ Brides Nephew & God Son
Palmer, aka Bearpaw, you are a very special little boy. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to be the very first (before even Nanna and Boppa) family member to hold you! I have to admit, I was afraid to hold something so tiny and fragile. But it was worth every minute. It has been pure joy watching all of your little movements and hearing new sounds that you make and watching you this summer we are becoming besties. You are very special because you have created a special bond and have made family bonds stronger. I am overjoyed to have you as my nephew, God-son and on my ring security team!
Lavinia Dumke
Lavinia Dumke - Flower Girl ~ Brides God Daughter & Cousin
Lavinia, my God Daughter. I remember like it was yesterday when your dad, my cousin Graham, was patiently waiting for the right time to talk to me at the family get together. Little did I know he was going to ask me a really important question. I felt so honored and special to be asked to be your God Mom. Not going to lie, I was also thinking “please don’t make me hold her”. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to, but I haven’t had much experience with newborns. What I really want you to know is that you are a very special little girl. You have so much personality and your smile radiates and brings so much joy to everyone. Did I mention that you are also so gosh darn cute? I am truly blessed to have you as my God daughter and my flower girl on this very special day!
Graham Dumke
Graham Dumke - Reader Cousin of the Bride
Graham, I love that we have such a large family on the Neisen side so we always had cousins to play with, and some of my best memories are with you. One of my favorites, you were pretty little and you wanted to play with the plastic high heels from my dress up box. My other favorite memory of you was you climbing (literally) the walls, when you would stand in the middle of the doorway, and put one foot up on the wall and the other foot on the other side of the wall and climp up to the top. I remember thinking how impressive you were and wishing I could do it! We may not always see each other as often as we'd like but I always have an appreciation for how calm, friendly, and easy going you are and how easy it is to be your cousin. I am so grateful to have you be a part of my special day!
Karen Dumke
Karen Dumke - Reader Aunt of the Bride
Aunt Karen, you remind me alot of my mom. You are hard working, funny, personable and creative. There's a couple memories that stand out more than others when I think of you. First, Tara and I were younger. We thought it would be funny to play a prank. I don’t exactly remember what the prank exactly was but I believe we hid some of your things in your purse and put glitter all over the top. Not sure why I always think of that story but probably because we got in really really big trouble. One of the reinforcements why you are special to me, is a couple of years I was going through a "thing" and you called me up to check in with me. I'll never forget your words and the way that a simple phone call made me feel. I feel honored that you agreed to be a part of my special day!
Jane Schinkten Martell "Grandma Jane"
Jane Schinkten Martell "Grandma Jane" - Reader Dear Friend of the Bride
Grandma Jane, you can probably guess what my most favorite memory is of you. You guessed it…Cookie making and decorating! What fun we had growing up in your care, you would have Tara and I measure out the ingredients, roll out the dough, cut out the cookies, and then decorate them. One of the best parts... you letting us lick the batter of the mixer. Also favorite reflections of nap time in the waterbed, playing with your snowman christmas decoration, and when you got me a "Polly Pocket" for my birthday. So many great memories were made that I will never forget! I feel very fortunate that you are not only like another grandma, but also that we get to celebrate and create more memories on such a special day with me!
Ian Ashby
Ian Ashby - Usher Brother-in-law to the Groom
Ian, from the the moment we met and hung out as a family on UFC fight night to coming back from Madison with throw up all over my car, to stories of past glorious conquests to working on the Roger Blough and finding Mr Rat in my backpack, to our first deep fried turkey and the subsequent pinecone ham debacle. Life has been more enjoyable with you as a friend, brother and family member.
Nicholas Crochiere
Nicholas Crochiere - Usher Army Buddy, Friend of the Groom
To my adventure pal Nick, from our first deployment together in Iraq, watching you picking heavy things up and putting them back down to missing your wedding (sorry buddy I was in Afghanistan), riding motorcycles, helping put in a pier as well as landscaping the lake and then going to Ukraine together, exploring their countryside while running the best gym together in all of Eastern Europe, life has been enjoyable with you as my friend and the many memories we’ve had together, thanks for sharing in this memory too.
