Jonathan and Gabrielle met through their church fellowship, where Jonathan first began trying to get Gabrielle’s attention—though she was completely oblivious at the time. When he asked her out, Gabrielle wasn’t so sure and even consulted one of her closest friends, admitting she hadn’t planned that far ahead. What began as conversations in July led to their first date in August, followed by months of dating filled with late-night talks, deep conversations, and growing love. It quickly became clear that Jonathan’s persistence (and Gabrielle’s eventual realization) was part of a much bigger plan. In December, during Hanukkah at Jonathan’s parents’ home and surrounded by both of their families, Jonathan proposed. Grateful for the fellowship that brought them together, Jonathan and Gabrielle are excited to continue growing in faith, love, and life together.
Semi-formal calls for looking nice but not overly formal. Women can go for a simple cocktail dress or well-put together skirt and blouse combo. Jumpsuits are also a great option, especially in soft, elegant fabrics like chiffon or crepe. Pair your outfit with some low heels, wedges, or dressy flats to keep things classy yet comfy.
For men, dress pants and chinos paired with a button-down shirt works perfectly. Adding a blazer can elevate the look but it's optional. Footwear like loafers or polished dress shoes are ideal.
What to avoid: Steer clear of overly formal attire like full-length gowns and tuxedos.
