Our Wedding

Our Story - 11 years by May 2026!

We’d crossed paths a few times prior, but it wasn’t until late February 2015 that - thanks to fate, a Blazers game, and a curling bonspiel Michelle may or may not have invited herself to—our friendship began. By spring, we were official — and just in time for our first road trip to dance at our friends’ wedding. Since then, we’ve built a life full of laughter, hiking, “beer tourism,” curling, cocktails, concerts, crib, and plenty of travel adventures near and far - such as Shuswap, Okanagan, and Vancouver, and all the way to Maui, Arizona, Las Vegas, and Puerto Vallarta. Together we’ve weathered illness, injury, loss, and joy; new jobs, and even a pandemic, while filling our home with love (and fur babies Winston, Henry, and the late George). Jordan brings the quiet wit and steady calm; Michelle brings the bubbly energy, and social spirit. Somehow, it works beautifully - together we bring out the best in each other. Ten years, countless memories, and one very fun engagement party later, we’re ready for our next big adventure: saying “I do” in Mexico, then celebrating with all of you back home. We can’t wait to toast, laugh, and dance the night away with our favourite people!

We’d love for everyone to join us in the garden party vibe! Think vibrant, fresh, and fun—especially in colours like greens, yellows, oranges, pinks, and/or corals. Be it bold or subtle, patterned or solid, one colour or many colours - whatever suits your style! Suggestions include dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, pant suits, collared shirts, slacks, etc. - dressy casual through semi formal.

How to Get Here

From the Vancouver area, the most direct route to Kamloops is via Highway 1 East to Hope, then Highway 5 North (the Coquihalla). The drive is approximately 4 hours, depending on traffic and weather. Although winter tires are no longer required effective May 1, please note that the Coquihalla passes through mountain areas where conditions can still be snowy in spring (even May). It’s always a good idea to check the <a href="drivebc.ca" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">DriveBC</a> before you travel for the latest updates on road conditions. Alternative scenic routes (via Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon, or Highway 3 through Manning Park) are also available, though they add time to the trip. Don't want to drive? Check out EBUS - <a href="https://www.myebus.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.myebus.ca/</a> which has multiple trips per day. The trip is approximately 6 hours.

A more upscale concept to it's sister to Noble Pig Brewery (see Breweries).<a href="https://www.jacobsnoodlencutlet.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Jacob's Noodle &amp; Cutlet</a>: Casual, delicious Korean and Japanese eats - with consistently amazing food and service. Try the Bibimbap!<a href="https://hellotoast.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hello Toast</a>: What may be Kamloops' best brunch. There is nearly always a line, but it moves quick!<a href="https://www.theartweare.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Art We Are Cafe</a>: A vibrant café with with extensive comfort food, catering to a variety of food preferences. Plus they have local art and wears on display for purchase!<a href="https://www.kekulicafe.com/menu" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Kekuli Cafe</a>: Indigenous-owned café known for its famous bannock. Try the breakfast sandwich on bannock!<a href="http://tongdak.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tongdak Korean Fried Chicken (Downtown)</a>: not to be confused with any restaurant of a similar name. This is a family owned business focusing on crispy, flavour-packed Korean fried chicken. Breweries! 

Kamloops is home to five standout breweries. Downtown holds <a href="https://www.redcollar.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Red Collar Brewing &amp; Gin Lane Distilling</a>, <a href="https://www.thenoblepig.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Noble Pig</a> and <a href="https://embersbrewhouse.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Embers Brewhouse</a>. There is also <a href="https://embersbrewhouse.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Iron Road Brewing</a> (Sahali) and <a href="https://www.brighteyebrewing.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bright Eye Brewing </a>(North Shore). As well, there's also Red Beard Cafe (North Shore) - with great cocktails and coffee, and a solid tap list representing BC. PS: The don't have a website, but they do have FB &amp; Instagram.

Registry

Your presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift we could ask for. We don’t have a registry, as we already have nearly everything we need for our home, and what remains are larger purchases (new furniture!!). If you’d like to give a gift, a contribution toward our honeymoon / one-year anniversary trip would mean the world to us. We are planning on Europe. There are so many places we wish to visit! We have yet to narrow it down more, and it will depend on many factors, such as political climate, economy, etc. etc.
