The 1918 Cellars Wine Tasting Room at Castle Farms features 11 locally produced wines available for purchase as tastings, glass pours, and bottles. 1918 Cellars also offers a delicious variety of gourmet grab-and-go food options to sustain your visit including starters, salads, sandwiches, and more (with options for kids too). Non-alcoholic beverages are also available, and we have products featured and available for purchase from several other local partners including Northwoods Soda, Cherry Republic, and Great Lakes Potato Chip Company.
The 1918 Cellars Wine Tasting Room is located in a historic wing of Castle Farms and offers both indoor and outdoor seating (outdoor seating is seasonal). The space features barn wood ceilings installed in the 1960s and a herringbone-pattern floor with tiles dating back to the original 1918 construction. Combined with the original stonework, these historical accents create a completely unique environment for your wine tasting experience.
One of Jordan's favorite spots in Michigan is the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park. It is especially beautiful at sunset. If you are not from Michigan, going here is definitely worth the drive from Charlevoix!!! During the day, you can climb miles of sand dunes, hike the Empire Bluff trail, or swim in Lake Michigan! There are also lighthouses in the area.
Charlevoix’s small-town charm and boutique shopping has something for everyone. If you’re looking for a great book, specialty food items, Charlevoix memorabilia, new clothing, artwork, and sweet treats- you can find it here. Check out The Mercado for many new additions to the vibrant downtown scene.

Tasting fees or other snacks and beverages at the wineries are not included.
It’s no secret that Charlevoix has great beaches on Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan. You can easily access Lake Michigan Beach along the pier from downtown and making it perfect for a leisurely stroll. Ferry Beach is family-friendly, situated on the shores of Lake Charlevoix, offering a shallow swim area, playground, and large sandy beach perfect for building sandcastles. You can also look for Petoskey stones!
Some beaches in the area:
