Wedding FAQs

What is the wedding dress code?

We'd love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day! Dress to impress in your best semi-formal attire. May we suggest a dress shirt and slacks or khaki pants (jackets and ties optional) for men, and any length dress or dressy separates for women. The ceremony will be on a beach with sand over concrete, meaning footwear will not sink in (heel friendly).

What color will the wedding party wear?

Bridesmaids will be wearing dusty rose. Groomsmen will be wearing blue suits.

Travel FAQs

Can I travel to Mexico if my passport is within 6 months of the expiration date?

The Mexican government only requires that your passport is valid during your entire trip. However, airlines may have a six month validity rule for passports. Please contact your airline(s) to see whether this rule is applicable.

Do I need a visa to enter mexico/what is mexico tourist card?

If you are traveling to Mexico as a US citizen or permanent resident, or as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you do not need a visa. Instead, you must fill out a tourist card or "Forma Migratoria Múltiple (FMM)" which is typically given to you on the plane. You must RETAIN THIS CARD for the duration of your stay and may be asked to present it at the airport upon departure.

What is visitax and do I need to pay it?

Visitax is officially a legal requirement for travelers but it is almost never enforced. It costs approximately $10 per person. The travel agent recommends you pay it in advance, but the decision is ultimately yours. If you choose not to pay beforehand and are stopped at Cancun Airport, you will need to go online and pay at that time. You can pay using this link:

How do I find my shuttle at the Cancun airport?

If you booked shuttle service, after you clear customs in the Cancun airport, WALK PAST ALL PEOPLE INSIDE and PROCEED OUTSIDE TO THE COVERED AREA. The people inside will act like they're there to help you, but they are just selling time shares. Ignore them and keep walking until you are outside, then look for "Lomas Travel" - they will look like this:

Resort and Mexico FAQs

Is tap water safe to drink?

Short answer, no! Anything served to you at the resort is filtered, but you should not drink water from in-room faucets. Brushing your teeth is generally fine. Your room will have a minibar with bottled water that is restocked daily for free. Only drink bottled water while offsite from the resort and be careful of ice!

Is tipping customary?

Yes! The resort is an all-inclusive, but tipping is expected. Please bring cash (American cash is widely accepted) and tip housekeeping, servers, bartenders, shuttle drivers, bellboys, etc. We recommend bringing a pile of $1 and $5 bills.

What is included as part of the all-inclusive?

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 13 food and beverage outlets, unlimited alcoholic drinks, and a bunch of activities! See more details on our "Things to Do" page.

Should I add an international plan for my cell phone?

Consider adding an international plan for the trip if you don’t have Mexico service included. According to reviews, the free wifi at the resort is a bit unreliable so up to you, but it will make meeting up easier!

Do resort restaurants require reservations?

Yes - we recommend going to the concierge desk after you check in and make your dinner reservations for the entire trip. You can always cancel them later. This applies to all of the sit-down dinner restaurants at the resort.

Do the resort restaurants have dress codes?

Some of the restaurants at the resort require "evening casual" attire consisting of long pants (jeans or dress pants), collared shirts, and closed toes shoes for men, and dress capris', sundresses, and dress sandals/heels for women. During the day, the resort is casual, however women will need a swimsuit cover up and men will need to have a shirt in addition to their swimwear for lunch.
