Food You Won't Forget!
You know us. We are foodies and here are some of our favorite restaurants you don't want to miss.
Julia Recommends:
Geist - One of Nashville's oldest buildings. Fantastic spot for dinner and brunch.
The Buttermilk Ranch - Located in the heart of the elegant, walkable 12 South neighborhood. Delicious brunch and homemade baked goods.
Rolf & Daughters - chic restaurant with homemade pastas and divine American cuisine.
Pelican & Pig - Everything is made over wood-fired stove. You're welcome.
Edley's BBQ - hands down our favorite local BBQ joint. Order the burnt ends.
The Iberian Pig - Best Spanish-inspired tapas in town.
Greg Recommends:
Arnold's Country Kitchen - James Beard award-winning meat and three. Top choice since day one. Open for lunch only weekdays and Saturdays at this time.
Bourbon Steak - Michelin-Star Chef Steakhouse. Located on the 34th floor of the JW Marriott hotel. If you are feeling fancy or just want a great cocktail and their iconic french fly flight (their version of free bread).
Sperry's - Nashville's oldest steakhouse, 50 years old. Located in the Belle Meade neighborhood (The Beverly Hills of Nashville). About 20 minutes from downtown. Bananas foster dessert is a must.
Dino's - The definition of a hole in the wall dive bar, but can't miss their burgers and animal fries. A staple. Don't be surprised if you see familiar faces or up and coming country artists dining next to you.
Biscuit Love - Good ol' southern food. Perfect way to start the day. Expect a line.
The Twelve Thirty Club - The first floor has fantastic food, but you have to experience The Supper Club on the second floor. Post up in a red velvet chair and listen to some of the best music in town.
If you want to experience an oasis, check out the Gaylord Opryland Hotel located 20 minutes from downtown. Grab a cocktail in the cascades.
There's PLENTY more on our list. Feel free to ask about other options.
Favorite Rooftops:
LA Jackson - One of our favorite rooftops hands down. Awesome vibes day and night. Great cocktails.
Rare Bird - The best, most stunning view of downtown. Enough said.
The Bobby Hotel - Huge rooftop that is open all-year round. Igloos in the winter and campfires. For the fall, expect gorgeous decor and seasonal themed cocktails.
White Limozeen - Dolly Parton themed rooftop. HIGHLY recommend making a reservation ASAP if you want to check it out. It gets packed and you might experience long wait times. It's right down the street from our hotel block.
Favorite Broadway Bars:
Kid Rock's Honky Tonk - Our favorite stage, rooftop and the food is perfect for a day out on the town.
Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row - Great music and every floor is enjoyable.
Friends in Low Places - One of the newer spots founded by the groom's favorite, Garth Brooks.
Nudie's - One of the longest bars on Broadway, always a good time.
Nashville Oktoberfest is happening during our wedding weekend, Oct 3-6! If you are in town early enough, we highly recommend checking it out. Delicious German foods from dozens of restaurants & vendors, world-class beer, tons of events, live German music and more!
Tour the original Grand Ole Opry, or, catch a show in the Mother Church!
If you have extra time, we highly recommend taking the trip further south and seeing where it all began for Gentleman Jack. There is a bus that leaves from the Omni Hotel in Downtown Nashville!
If you are a history buff, take a tour of The Hermitage! Only 20-25 minutes outside of downtown Nashville.
