The year is 2018. The location is James Madison University. Kaelie is helping run JMU’s Student Ambassadors interview process, and Aaron is one of the interviewees. As the story goes, for Aaron, it was love at first sight. Kaelie, however, was a little more focused on being “professional,” but it didn’t take long for Aaron to woo her. After just one lunch date at SSC, Kaelie was already texting her friends saying, “I am in love with Aaron Walsh.”

Fast forward to January 27th, 2019. It’s 2 a.m., and Kaelie and Aaron have been at a Student Ambassadors event late into the night. They had been flirting and were each other’s partners for the fun game of Birdy on a Perch (which, in Kaelie’s mind, meant they were practically married already). It was that fateful night when Aaron introduced Kaelie to Cookout’s Banana Fudge Milkshake, and Kaelie introduced Aaron to the fear of hearing her say, “Want to go on an adventure?” This night led to stargazing at what would become their favorite spot: Storybook Trail.

Since then, Kaelie and Aaron have enjoyed countless adventures together. They have traveled to Cleveland, Asheville, Nashville, Amsterdam, Paris, and more. Aaron spent many hours in 2023 and 2024 planning how he would ask Kaelie to marry him, recruiting her best friends to help pull off the greatest surprise.

On March 23rd, 2024, at Arrington Vineyard, Aaron got down on one knee, and Kaelie, of course, said yes! The night that followed was full of friends and family hitting Nashville’s Broadway and singing their lungs out to Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.”

And that leads us to today. Kaelie and Aaron are now settled into their first home together, affectionately known as the Bluebird, in Oakton, VA. They look forward to committing to the rest of their lives together in front of all those they love.
