Best Airports for Charlottesville

Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO): the most convenient option for flying directly into Charlottesville. Located just 8 miles north of downtown, CHO offers daily flights from major hubs like Atlanta (ATL), Charlotte (CLT), Chicago (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), New York-LaGuardia (LGA), Philadelphia (PHL), and Washington-Dulles (IAD).


Richmond International Airport (RIC): Located 80 miles southeast of Charlottesville.


Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD): Located approximately 100 miles northeast of Charlottesville.​

Transportation from Airports

Ride-Sharing: Uber and Lyft are readily available to and from the airport.

Car Rentals: Rental agencies like Hertz, Enterprise, and Avis operate at CHO.

Private Shuttles & Limousines: Companies like Albemarle Limousine and James Limousine provide pre-arranged services.

Wedding Day Shuttle Details

We are providing complimentary shuttles to and from Castle Hill Cider so all our guests can celebrate safely and stress-free. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Shuttles will run between our selected locations and Castle Hill Cider at the following times:


Pickup:

4:30 PM – In front of The Draftsman Hotel for all guests staying at The Draftsman AND Hampton Inn. (1 block walk up Main Street)

4:30 PM – In front of The Graduate for guests staying there.


You are welcome to park near one of these hotels and join everyone on the shuttle.


Return Trips:

TBD – Shuttles will run back at predetermined times throughout the evening.

11:00 PM – Final shuttle for those staying to wave farewell to the Bride & Groom!


We strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this service, especially if you plan to enjoy the bar. The roads are dark and winding, and ride-shares are not available back to the hotels—so please don’t miss the shuttle!


While cars may be left at Castle Hill Cider overnight at your own risk, we ask that all guests prioritize safety. Please do not drink and drive. Let’s celebrate responsibly.

FROM WASHINGTON, DC

Begin I-95 South

Take Exit 130B onto VA-3 West toward Culpeper and continue for about 13 miles.

Turn left onto VA-20 (Constitution Highway) and continue for about 22 miles.

Turn left onto US-15 South and continue for about 8 miles.

Go into the roundabout and take the 2nd exit onto VA-231 South and continue for about 6 miles.

Turn right onto VA-640 (Turkey Sag Road) and continue for 600 yards.

Turn left into Castle Hill Cider entrance.


Begin I-66 West

Take Exit 43 onto US-29 South toward Gainesville/Warrenton and continue for about 38 miles.

Take the US-15 ramp toward Culpeper/Orange.

Turn left onto US-15 South/US-15-BR South/Orange Road and continue to follow US-15 South for about 17 miles.

Turn left onto US-15/VA-20 and continue to follow US-15 South for about 8 miles.

Go into the roundabout and take the 2nd exit onto VA-231 South and continue for about 6 miles.

Turn right onto VA-640 (Turkey Sag Road) and continue for 600 yards.

FROM RICHMOND

Begin I-64 West

Take Exit 129 (Black Cat Road).

Turn right off of exit ramp and continue on VA-616 (Black Cat Road) until the road ends at VA-22.

Turn right onto VA-22 (Louisa Road) and continue for about 3 miles.

Stay straight onto VA-231 (Gordonsville Road) and continue for about 3 miles.

Turn left onto VA-640 (Turkey Sag Road) and continue for 600 yards.

Turn left into Castle Hill Cider entrance.


FROM STAUNTON/HARRISONBURG

Begin I-64 East

Take Exit 124 (Shadwell/Charlottesville).

Turn right off of exit ramp and continue on US-250 East for about 2 miles.

Turn left onto VA-22 (Louisa Road) and continue for about 5 miles.

Stay straight onto VA-231 (Gordonsville Road) and continue for about 3 miles.

Turn left onto VA-640 (Turkey Sag Road) and continue for 600 yards.

Turn left into Castle Hill Cider entrance.

Returning to Richmond or East of Charlottesville:

Take a right out of Castle Hill Cider onto Turkey Sag Road.

Take a right at stop sign on VA-231 S (Gordonsville Road).

Merge onto VA-22 W (Louisa Road).

Turn left onto Black Cat Road. Follow for 2.4 miles.

Turn left onto the ramp to I64 East to Richmond.


Returning to Charlottesville or West of Charlottesville:

Take a right out of Castle Hill Cider onto Turkey Sag Road.

Take a right at stop sign on VA-231 S (Gordonsville Road).

Merge onto VA-22 W (Louisa Road).

Follow until you take a slight right onto US250 West.

Use left lane to take the ramp to I64 West.


Returning to Leesburg, Virginia and NORTH:

Take a right out of Castle Hill Cider onto Turkey Sag Road.

Take a left at stop sign on VA-231 N (Gordonsville Road) to US-15 N/E Gordon Avenue in Gordonsville.

Follow US-15 N to Leesburg.

Continue onto 29N to 66 East and beyond for locations North.
