Colorado mountain towns can be fickle in October so your guess could be as good as ours! The elevation is nearly 8,000 feet above sea level. Because of this high elevation and relatively dry air, the daylight hours are usually sunny with fall-like weather (50s-70s), but cold once the sun goes down. We suggest bringing layers and a jacket! Snowy conditions are possible, so please plan accordingly with both clothing as well as transportation. We recommend checking the weather report before you pack!

In general, you can wear semi-casual / cocktail attire. If you want to dress more western to fit the mountain town vibes - we love it! Nice jeans, western hats, boots, and bolo ties are all fair game!

Formal attire. Some options include: short / long dresses / pantsuits / suits with a tie (bolo- tie encouraged!). Please bring a jacket or a sweater just in case!

The ceremony starts promptly at 4:30pm. We recommend getting there around 4:15pm at the latest to get seated.

Nope but we can provide a list of local babysitters!

There is not a formal after party, but The Surf Hotel lobby bar, Wesley and Rose, will turn to a cash bar and stay open until 11pm. If you are up for it, you can head to The Lariat (location of the Welcome Party) for late night partying until 2am.

We will not be providing transportation, but the ceremony and the reception are both located at The Surf Hotel and the after party is back at The Lariat, which is within walking distance. We are hoping most people can stay close enough to walk, but if you are planning to drive, parking is available. Note that Ubers / Lyfts / taxis are limited in Buena Vista.

Yes. Street parking is available. There are also two open lots located within walking distance.

Our venue is handicap accessible, but please know that there may be cobblestone or uneven ground.

The wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors. The reception will be both indoors and outdoors under a tent with heaters. Plan accordingly!

The food will be prepared by The Surf's Wesley and Rose chefs. You will have your choice of protein or a specific plated meal if you have dietary restrictions (gluten free, nut free, dairy free, and vegan). Selections will be made at the time of your RSVP. We will be serving Carrot Cake from one of our favorite places in town, Sorelle Delicatessen. We recommend trying both of these places out during your stay as well!
