Kathryn and Alex have actually know each other for over a decade as they went to high school together at Discovery Canyon Campus (which is only 7 miles down the road from our venue!). Both of them were in the high school symphonic band together and bonded over a shared love of music and both of their goofy personalities. The two of them shared a few different classes together over the years as well as continuing through band with each other. They became a source of great support to one another through both good and bad times and through all the struggles of being a teenager and trying to fit in. Alex graduated a year before Kathryn in 2016 and spent a couple years at Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Kathryn graduated in 2017 and went on to University of Wyoming for the first year of college.

They reconnected through a mutual friend after a Halloween party in 2019 after a few years of lost contact. From there, they began talking and became involved in each other's lives again. Both of them felt a spark after a few months and on April 3rd, 2020, Alex asked Kathryn to be his girlfriend. Their first date was a virtual Zoom date (due to the COVID lockdown) where Alex ordered Fuzzy's Taco Shop and they watched a movie together. They moved in together in January of 2021 with a couple other roommates (including Kathryn's Maid of Honor, Ashley). They made many wonderful memories and continued to work hard and play hard, as well. Kathryn started working full-time at a microbiology lab in Denver in January 2022 and Alex joined her at the same company in May 2023 and the couple finally moved to Aurora in the spring of 2023.

The proposal happened in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado. Alex planned a lovely long weekend getaway surprise for Kathryn and popped the question to her on June 10th, 2024.
