Our story began like any other love story… in the meat section of a Kroger.
I said hi, and she said hi, and the rest was history. We’ve been (Facebook) friends since 9/11…2024 and we had our first date on November 9th 2024 (see, guys can remember dates)
Our first date was very special. I took her out to a Mexican restaurant after gifting her, not flowers, but a Pokemon squish mellow, because flowers are overrated.
Not only were we romantically interested in each other, but we quickly became friends too. We had so much in common that we have told each other “you’re like the male/female version of me”. I was introduced to her friend group little by little and they quickly became my friends too.
Those days were some of the best moments of my life. Trying out new food together, Going out late at night to hang out with her friends, even if it would cost me sleep at work the next day. I knew in my gut, even two months in our relationship, that I was serious about Kayla, and nothing and no one, not even Kayla herself, could stop me from making this relationship work.
On may 15th, I took her to the beach and proposed to her… and she said yes.
Technically the beach was in Memphis so it barely passes as a real beach, but that’s beside the point.
I can’t wait for the day when I can officially call you my wife. I remember when I used to embarrass you in public just to see your reaction by calling you my wife, but this time, it’s for real. I am forever grateful for you, Kayla Ann Nicole Boyd, and I love you very much.
