One of our first favorite spots on the island, Kona Brewing Compnay offers a relaxed and shady spot in downtown Kona to sample beer, listen to live music and grab delicious bites. Don't forget to grab some of their signature apparel!
Located in Captain Cook on the south end of the island, the Coffee Shack has fantastic breakfast, lunch, and Kona coffee with an incredible view of Kealakekua Bay.
There are many different coffee farms located on the island and several offer great tours. However, for the adventurous spirit, this one is worth the drive up the mountain. The views are spectacular and the coffee is some of the best on island.
If you have the ability to take a day trip, this is a must stop. The southernmost bakery in the US, this shop offers famous Hawaiian sweet rolls and delicious malasadas. Stop here for a snack on your way to the Punalu'u black sand beach and Volcanoes National Park.
Whether Kilauea is actively erupting or not, this park is worth the day trip to visit. When there is volcanic activity, plan a trip that ends after dark so that you can hike down to see the lava at night!
If you get the chance to visit Hilo (located in East Hawai'i) make sure that you stop at Ola Brew Co to try their dragonfruit hard cider and one of the best burgers on the island!
Located on the north side of the island, the Akaka Falls State Park and the Waipio Valley Lookout are two easy stops with incredible views. Perfect for a short hike and photo opportunity.
There are many different snorkeling tours available to visitors of the Big Island. We would highly recommend booking in advance to snorkel at Kealakekua Bay, the location of the Captain Cook Monument and home to hundreds of different colorful tropical fish. Tours are also available for Manta Ray night snorkeling!
