It all started with a dear mutual friend and an instagram handle. We love to tell the story of when Aaron first saw Kayla on a mutual friend's instagram. He thought she was beautiful, but what really caught his eye was her profile. Her instagram handle was Take Time 2 Breathe, and he saw that she was passionate about bringing mindfulness into education. Aaron shares the same love of health, wellness, nature, and the great outdoors. He reached out through instagram with a very professional invite to coffee or a beer. Our first date was at Station 26 Brewery and after a few beers and some chicken tenders, as they say, the rest is history.
We love to talk about our second date because as you can tell from the picture above, we were matching in every way. Aaron took Kayla on a snowshoe hike in the Colorado mountains to a beautiful lake. On the way up, Kayla's snowshoe kept coming loose. Without hesitation, Aaron got down on his knees in the snow to fix it and make sure both were tight and good to go. She also noticed he only spoke kindly of others and had big dreams for his future. And yes, on the second date, Kayla knew this is the type of man she wanted to marry and have as the father of her children. It also didn't hurt that he's extremely attractive, right?
Another story we love to talk about is when we went to Aaron's close friend's wedding after a month of officially dating. Kayla flew after school to meet Aaron in Minneapolis for the wedding. The love of traveling and exploring new cities is another similarity we share. We had an amazing time and Kayla loved meeting some of Aaron's long-time friends. It did not feel like we had only known each other for two months, and other people felt the same. We guess early on we knew it was meant to be.
The next few months were full of travel and adventure. We share a passionate love for the great outdoors and that is showcased in all of the amazing adventures from the spring and summer of 2021. We camped and hiked in the Rocky Mountains, paddle boarded on the lakes in Grand Teton National Park, and swam and tubed in the lakes and rivers in Northern Michigan. And most importantly, we got to spend time with loved ones along the way.
It was so much fun getting to introduce all of our family and friends to each other. We love talking about how easy it was to meet each other's family because they felt so similar. They all have the same fun, loving, welcoming, and energetic energy. Our friends, some mutual before we even met, are all amazing and incredible. It was so much fun spending time in the outdoors with all of them. We cannot picture all of our family and friends here but hold so many dear to our hearts. From Colorado, Jackson Hole, Hawaii, Ohio, to Michigan and beyond, we have loved every trip, wedding, and time spent with our loved ones.
