Q + A

What do you mean by formal attire?

While the wedding is not black tie, we’d love to see everyone dressed their best for our special occasion. A jacket and tie are requested for gentlemen, and a cocktail dress is requested for ladies.

Where can we park at the Museum Center?

The Cincinnati Museum Center will offer free parking for the guests of the wedding. The lots are large and a safe place to park your vehicles. Additionally, all guest can leave their vehicles in the lot overnight. There is an open bar for 6.5 hours, so this may be an option for many party guests. Additionally, Uber, Lyft, and cabs are all available in the city.

Are my children invited?

The online RSVP indicates the members of your household who are invited to the wedding. If you need a babysitter for the evening, please contact the bride before the end of June—she’s got several sweet and responsible high schoolers on retainer.

How can I entertain myself during the “Catholic gap” between the ceremony and reception while the wedding party is getting photos?

There are several bars and restaurants, a coffee shop, and a brewery within a block of the St. Francis de Sales Church. You can also visit Fountain Square or the Banks downtown to see some Cincy sights and get some photos. The Cincinnati History Museum ($12.50-$16.50) on the south end of Union Terminal is also an option if you would like to head straight to the reception venue. The museum closes just as our cocktail hour begins in the Natural History Museum on the north side of the building. Both hotels are also in between the Church and Union Terminal if you need to freshen up or rest up for the evening.

There are multiple St. Francis Catholic churches in Cincinnati. Which one is the right one?

We are getting married at St. Francis de Sales, Cincinnati. The address is 1600 Madison Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206. We are not getting married at St. Francis Seraph in downtown Cincinnati or at St. Francis de Sales, Lebanon. While those are both beautiful churches, you'll be late to the ceremony.

Can we walk around the museum during the reception?

Yes! The entire Museum of Natural History and Science on the north side of Union Terminal will be open to all of our guests until 9pm. You may view the exhibits during the cocktail hour and after dinner. We recommend ladies bring sturdy shoes or a trusty escort if they wish to view the entire museum as there is some uneven terrain in the cave and through the region's historical exhibit.

What’s your wedding hashtag?

#WhenTwoBecomeShrub is our wedding hashtag. Please feel free to post anything from the wedding weekend with that tag so we can see all your fun pictures!!

Our photographer is Christina Jane Photography and she is amazing and super fun and we hope you all love her!
