These two officially met second semester of Senior year in College at Iowa State University. One of Kiara's best friends, Laila, had known Eric through some of her friends, and Kiara had grown to know about him, but they never officially talked. The first "Taco Tuesday" night of the last semester of college Kiara was out with Laila at a local bar and had run into Eric. Little did Kiara know, when she was not next to Laila he had asked for her number (In Eric's words, "Whoa, who is she?!"). Eric didn't hesitate to reach out and by the next day plans were made to hang out. Even though it was senior year and it was going to be time to graduate and move somewhere for work, that didn't matter. After graduation, Eric accepted a job in Tyler, TX and shortly after his move down there Kiara had followed and landed a job in Dallas. It was "short" long distance for 2 years during their time in Texas, living about 2 hours apart and seeing each other EVERY single weekend. Enjoying camping and visiting different places in Texas during weekends together. But the Texas heat got to be too much and they packed up and moved back to the Midwest, landing in Milwaukee. After a pandemic, multiple more camping trips, lots of beer gardens, rescuing a dog and 4 years after moving, Eric finally proposes during a trip to Mexico with Kiara's family.

We are so excited to begin this journey of our lives together. After about 7 years together, we are looking forward to a lifetime to go!
