For anyone who is travelling from out of town, or who is not familiar with the BC interior, Cranbrook is known as the Gateway to Adventure. The town is located in the Kootenays, approximately 4 hours drive from Calgary, 6 hours drive from Kelowna or 10 hours drive from Vancouver.

If you're flying, you can fly into Calgary International Airport (YYC) or if you'd like to fly directly into Cranbrook, there's also the Canadian International Rockies Airport (YXC).

Please note that Cranbrook does have public transport, however it is limited and the wedding venue is off the transit lines so a car will be required to travel to and from the ceremony (or around town).

For those of you who don't know, Kira is a sober person, who does not use alcohol or drugs. The wedding will have alcohol available (at a Toonie bar), however we are asking for folks to make sure that they are being respectful of the Bride and other sober individuals attending the wedding and drinking responsibly.

Please be aware that excessive or unruly intoxication, and disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.

Both Mack and Kira have such a clearly defined style and blending the best of both of them results in an esthetic that can only be described as REFINED REDNECK... thus the theme for the wedding was born.

Think burlap, hay, cheesecloth, and lace. Think fringe, florals, leather or ruffles. Think skulls, barnwood, earth and jewel tones. (sample board assembled for inspiration below).

What to wear? Remember that it's August in Cranbrook. If you are unfamiliar, ask a local and they will tell you that means it will likely be really hot with sunshine and a warm breeze. It's also fire season so expect there may be a haze of smoke in the air. Evenings can be cool so layers are handy.

The entire event takes place outside on an acerage where the ground is mostly grass or small gravel so appropriate footwear might favor chunky boots over stiletto heels.
