Lexi is the only person that Krista can not write an accurate excerpt for… Is this because Krista is terrible at writing them? No (yes). Is it because Lexi can not fully be described with words since she is an enigma? Absolutely (also yes). Lexi and Krista found each other when the Universe brought Jake and Lexi together as a couple! That started a friendship that will absolutely outlast humanity and, quite possibly, Guy Fieri… Lexi is going to be a mother soon (Woo!!!!) and she is also a badass representative of Girls Inc. which empowers all girls to be strong positive young women! Krista is a much better person for knowing Lexi and she is so happy that Lexi will be standing right by her side on her wedding day!

Lou is Matt’s younger brother and therefore a huge dork but also an amazing human and musician. Matt indoctrinated Lou into many of his own hobbies when they were children, including Teen Titans, Mario Kart, and learning how to be blamed for things that his older brother was responsible for. Lou currently lives in New York where he has trained a gang of Dickinsion orphans to pick-pocket Wall Street fat cats.

Krista has known Misti her entire life, which is no surprise since Misti is her older sister! Throughout the years they have made amazing memories including 3+ years of working at Arby's together, sharing a bed(and clothes, much to Misti’s displeasure) for 10 consecutive summers at their Grandparents house, and laughing way too hard at things they shouldn't be laughing at (every time they were at church together) Krista was honored to stand by Misti when she got married this year and she is elated that Misti will be by her side on her big day. Misti is also a Registered Nurse and she deserves all the praise in the world for being such a loving and kind person to all of her patients near and far!

Josh, like Matt, is one of the middle children of the Barker clan. His hobbies include writing music and reliving “The Catch” from the 1981 NFC Championship Game. Josh lives closest to Matt and Krista in Roca with his wife Elena (one of Krista’s bridesmaids) and son Ben (who is like a less hairy Animal from The Muppets). You may be able to get Josh to speak in-length about Joe Montana if bribed with tacos and whiskey (both of which will be available at the wedding).

Lenore is a ray of sunshine that came crashing into Krista's life thanks to Jake and Lexi. Lenore is one of the most positive and loving people that has graced the Barkenports and we are truly better people for knowing her! Lenore is the heart and soul of To The Brim Communities which is a Lincoln based organization that brings the Lincoln community together through food donations and community support! She is amazing at giving hugs, kicking butt at Polish Horseshoes and an amazing mother to the bacon loving Alice and wife to the music loving Chris!

The eldest Barker child and presumably the wisest (but that’s still up for discussion), Justin lives in Portland, OR with his wife Kim and their pup, Toby. Matt and Justin share many common interests, but most of them revolve around Star Wars, comic books, and debating if Green Day or blink-182 is better (it’s blink). Justin is a free-lance artist (contact his manager, Kim, for details) and dreams to one day live in a life-size Lego Death Star.

Elena and Krista were basically sisters when they met because of their shared love of wine, Jane Austen, and taking naps! But on October 14th, they will be sisters-in-law which is even better because they don’t have to deal with years of arguing over who still has whose old shirts (sorry Misti). Elena is a constant source of joy to Matthew and Krista, thanks to her amazing cooking skills and the fact that she brought Ben into their lives!

Levi is the only person from high school that still continues to associate with Matt, despite the warnings he’s received from his friends, family, and the fortune teller he met in the alleyway that one time. Together, they have survived Boy Scout Camp, High School, and will survive the eventual zombie apocalypse thanks to their multiple viewings of Zombieland (many of which Krista was a part of, too). Levi lives in Falls City with his girlfriend, Courtney, and their legion of animals, which include dogs, mules, rabbits, and a cat.

Jake is Matt and Krista’s oldest friend (he’s 50)! Jake and Krista became the best of friends in college but he was quickly stolen by Matt when they were introduced. Jake’s time is split between script-writing, playing music, and getting ready for an incoming child with his wife, Lexi. Contrary to the rumors, Jake was not the inspiration for Stephen King’s 1977 novel, The Shining.
