Should we stay in Carmel, Monterey, or Big Sur?

We highly suggest Carmel-by-the sea. Although, you're welcome to search in the nearby towns. Just be aware, our venue does not allow vehicles, so everyone will be required to ride via shuttle and the shuttle pick-ups will come from downtown Carmel-by-the-sea. See our "Hotels" page for more information.

How should we get to Carmel-by-the-sea?

You are welcome to drive to Monterey/Carmel area from wherever you live. It is sure to be a beautiful drive with plenty of attractions to stop and see along the way. If you choose to fly, there are a few airport options. Monterey Regional Airport (MRY)- Alaska, Allegient, United, and American. Monterey is a10-15 minute drive to Carmel-by-the-sea. San Jose Airport (SJC)- Southwest, Alaska, Delta, American, JetBlue, and Spirit airlines. San Jose is 1hr and 15-minute drive to Carmel-by-the-sea. San Francisco International Airport (SFO)- all major airlines- Southwest, Delta, United, Alaska, American, Allegiant, Spirit, and more. SFO is a 1.45hr - 2hr drive to Carmel-by-the-sea.

Are shuttles provided?

Yes! Shuttles will be provided. Pick-up locations include, Carmel Plaza and the Crossroads. **Subject to change**

Are kids allowed to the reception?

Please note, this will be an adults-only reception. Most hotels can assist in finding a sitter upon request.

Is the wedding venue wheelchair accessbile?

Yes. All levels at the venue have ramps and ways to get there that do not involve stairs. However, the venue is in the forest and most of the ground are natural: dirt, gravel, and grass. The ADA bathrooms are located just outside the gardens and are shared with the rest of the property.

Should we rent a car?

Bus transportation will be provided to our wedding reception. However, we highly recommend renting a car if you want to explore all the area has to offer. If you stay in downtown Carmel-by-the-sea, you won't need a car and can certainly stay busy in this quaint charming town. Everything is walkable including the beach, dining, and shopping. If you want to leave Carmel to sightsee or if you choose to stay in a nearby town, you will likely want a car and can cover many attractions in one weekend. Big Sur- Although our venue is in Big Sur, if you plan to hike and explore further, you will need a car and cannot rely on ride share services.
